Petisqueria Belmar

Went here for lunch when we were on a day trip to Tavira. The barman/waiter was so quirky but very nice and welcoming. He was on his own and attended to every table at a busy lunchtime setting with ease, he's obviously been doing this a long time. We ordered a bitok (steak egg and chips) for our daughter, fried small fish for me and cuttlefish for my husband and a bottle of wine and water. Everything was great and reasonable priced. Would return and recommend.

Huge dourada very good. Lovely lamb cutlets. Nice bottle of wine. The ‘court jester’ that works front of house is irritating and thinks that treating guests as idiots makes a comfortable dining experience. What is happening to Tavira? Oh yes, more tourism. Both sides are destroying a lovely place. Sigh.

Extremely good value for money, excellent fish well cooked, nice house wine. The waiter is 'amusing ' but could do with a bit more help during the rush hours, we would have ordered more wine drinks but decided against it because it would have been too much effort

Después de pasar varios días en todos los algarve con diferentes comidas y cenas, los dos pensamos que la mejor relación precio que hemos encontrado ha estado aquí. Y la verdad de que tanto el pulpo como el bacalao en el cricket eran muy buenos. Réservez une table maintenant

Good traditional Portuguese restaurant. We had the sardines and a bream. The staff was nice and helped with the kids. Fortunately we came at 12:00 because it quickly filled after that.

Teníamos dos personas, un poco lentas pero muy agradables. El pescado en una recomendación espectacular, buen vino y exquisitos postres. Calidad/calidad/precio muy bien.

Extremely slow service. Weird waiter. Fish was good but grilled steak was mediocre. Had to chase the waiter for utensils and water. I don’t recommend this place.

Get here early because this little local gem is permanently busy. Extremely reasonable! Tuna was cooked perfectly and the plenty of it. Réservez une table maintenant

Excellent food and always a good atmosphere used by the locals which says it all. First stop on any holiday!

Beltin food and funny waiter. Mixed fish and chocolate mousse are my favourites.
