Petit Courault - Réserver une table

What a find! We ventured out to find this restaurant using my trusty Google Maps (what would one do without it?!) and after quite a hairy journey arrived at the restaurant. Thank goodness we had booked as it was full. The restaurant appears to be run by a delightful couple - Madame running the front of house and her husband the kitchen. We opted for the 29€ menu which offered three courses which we chose from the a la carte. We both started with the foie gras de canard which was accompanied by home-made nut and dried apricot bread and a tangy orange chutney- a huge portion which nevertheless we both finished. For my main course I had grilled duck and local beef steak accompanied by little roast potatoes and a courgette and tomato mix while my mum had a breast of chicken with paprika and a cream sauce. My meat was perfectly cooked and extremely tender. We both chose the tarte de maison which was fresh apricots poached in a creamy sauce accompanied by kirsch ice cream. I drank a small carafe of red wine whilst mum has Pinot Gris (too sweet for her). Her espresso was accompanied by tiny little meringues and chocolate. We noticed that all the other diners were French and were eating from the a la carte menu - the same as our dishes but larger (I couldn't have eaten all of it and I love my food). We were both so impressed that we immediately booked again for Saturday night.As a post script - our journey home was quite hazardous in the dark praying that my headlight converters has been attached correctly but the most amusing thing was the groups of young French soldiers out on a night march!

Nous avons amené des amis dans cet ancien moulin qui jouxte la rivière du PAMPROUX,endroit magnifique, et chambre d'hôtes superbes. Donc belle surprise. Très bon accueil de la propriétaire(humour et gentillesse). Ensuite un très bon service, bon suivi de table. le menu à 24, 90 euros, est copieux, et fonctionne bien. Nous avons eu un merlu meunière (en provenance de la potinière, ile d'oléron) de grande fraîcheur, et gouteux comme jamais, car accompagné d'un croustillants d'herbes du jardin(une régal, et puis il faut citer l'assiette de viande grillée,(PARTHENAISE), et aiguillettes de canard(très, très bon). Pour finir un joli dessert, (cerise jaune du pays en gratin, glace vanille montée sur craquant à l'italiene)Vraiment une belle soirée dans ce restaurant, ou il est utile de réserver, car plein en continue. Belle découverte de nos campagnes et terroirs.

Cadre champêtre très reposant. Assiette gourmande parfaite, juste ce qu'il faut pour reprendre la route sans avoir sommeil. Vaut le détour...

Allez y! Tout est frais, fait maison. Le service est simple et efficace. Vous passerez un tres bon moment dans un cadre agreable.

Cadre super agréable, magnifique site.Cuisine très bonne avec mise en valeur des produits locaux.Service accueillant.
