Stumbling upon gems like Pho Kitchen is always a delightful experience. I had the pleasure of discovering this Pan Asian restaurant while attending the Allen Hopkins Super Billiards Expo, after being disappointed to find my usual lunch spot near the Expo Center had closed. The Tom Yum Soup I ordered was packed with delicious vegetables and shrimp, with a broth that was delightfully spicy and tangy. Although the presentation was a bit messy, the incredible flavors more than made up for it. The summer rolls were larger than what I am used to in Northern Virginia, and the peanut sauce had a rich peanut flavor. I look forward to returning for lunch next year during the Expo. The service at this restaurant was terrible. The food was not good and the staff did not follow basic service norms. We ordered three dishes for three people, but the food took 30 minutes to arrive with a 10-minute gap between each dish, so we mostly ate alone. One staff member started sweeping while several tables still had food on them, even though it was not closing time yet. The Pad Thai was the worst I have ever had. Overall, the service was slow and the dining experience was disappointing. This was a dinner meal.
I always choose to eat at this restaurant for the Pho! It never lets me down. The staff is attentive and respectful. I highly recommend giving it a try if you are in the area! The service, food, and atmosphere are all top-notch. There is plenty of parking available in the free parking lot. The food at this restaurant was not bad, it was good, but my husband's mother, who is Vietnamese, was not impressed. The fact that they serve both Vietnamese and Chinese food made it seem less authentic to her. The food is great. You can not go wrong with the pho, which is probably why it's name is what it is. Broth is delicious, meat portions are generous and high quality.
