"The food was fantastic, and the service was great. The food arrived promptly and the staff were lovely. It is only a small area, so I can imagine it gets quite loud when busy, but on this experience I couldn't fault it."

Honest review here. This place IS the place for a great night of Thai food. My wife, 3 kids and I went here on a Sunday night for dinner. Place was half full so not too busy. Jetty rd can be hard for parking so you'll probably have to look in the side streets. The place is nothing special to look at but it's clean and simple, and the service is 5 star from greeting you as you walk in to leaving after your meal. The menu has most of the Thai classics with a selection of specials, and price-wise its on par with most typical places, ranging $15-25 for mains. The service - we were WELL attended to. This isn't the best Thai food I've ever had, however, I still enjoyed eating here. Phuket Thai is very clean and the waitresses are friendly and welcoming. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time, although there didn't seem to be enough of it. I was surprised when I received the bill at the end of a short evening for such a large amount, especially since I still felt hungry. Would I eat here again...probably not. I've been to every Thai restaurant in Glenelg & Brighton and this is not amongst my favourites. However, I would recommend giving it a try! Maybe I just had an unlucky visit.
Dirty glasses. When we were brought a clean glass the waiter poured the wine from the dirty glass into the new glass. Upon our commenting the manager returned and said he 'guaranteed that the spot was not food and was the flowers F from the table' (the glasses had not been on the table). The manager then said he would not replace the cross contaminated glass or provide a new bottle. For the rest of the evening we received nothing but rude comments and glares. Highly unprofessional. The Spring rolls are the best we have ever had. The duck was really excellent too. BEST of all though the owners are THE nicest Thai-Aussie people you could possibly hope to meet. We want to take them back to Canada with us! IF ONLY we could have a restaurant this FANTASTIC in the little city we live in in Canada. Citizens of Glenelg think yourselves LUCKY - because you are!!! By the way the lovely lady who served us makes the spring rolls herself - and it shows.
Phuket Thai has an authentic Thai feel, with very tasty menu options. During the latest visit I enjoyed the duck curry. The decor is simple and neat, however for me some tables seem a bit too close together so that conversations can be overhead. Service is excellent, with staff very attentive to customer needs and having a reasonably good understanding of Gluten Free requirements. Identification of 'GF' items on the menu would be helpful.
The takeaway service was so slow and took over 45 minutes for the food to arrive. We weren't advised of a likeky delay when ordering even though it was obviously busy. People arriving after us were seated and served before we got our food. When it arrived the satay chicken was cold and the whole experience meant we didnt enjoy the food. We are (or were) regulars, we will not be going back.
This is our second experience at Phuket Thai and the consistency and quality of the food was really good. The service was very quick and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Caters well for people with Coeliac Disease. Which for us is a massive bonus. The only negative would've been the portion size of the curries we ordered. Réservez une table maintenant
We dine here regularly and have for years. Delicious and perfect every time. A few of our favourites are the pandan chicken, spring rolls, mixed seafood salad, Tom Kar Gai, red beef curry and the yellow chicken curry. We've tried many other dishes, and haven't been disappointed yet.
