Piccolo Cantina Bay

The service was friendly, but unfortunately, our waitress forgot the sides I ordered, and we were still charged for them. My husband didn't realize I hadn't received them and ended up paying the bill that included the charge. The food was fairly mediocre and bland, but perhaps that's because I'm from Southern California and used to authentic Mexican cuisine. Since moving to New York, I haven't found any good Mexican food, but I'm definitely going to keep searching. On a positive note, the mozzarella sticks were the best I've ever tasted, and the view of the sunset over the water was stunning.

We decided to dine here because the reviews were so positive. The service was great, the staff were attentive and kind. Looked to be a family-run business, which we were happy to support. Unfortunately the food was a complete let down. The guac chips cost $15, but tasted like unseasoned store-bought tub with the addition of tomatoes and onions. My husband had the chicken enchilada, which he found to lack flavor. My chicken flautas were extremely hard making it difficult to chew, flavor was okay but not great. We had high hopes but the food just didn’t taste authentic or flavorful.

Some of the best mexican food on the island genuinely. Their enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos and burritos are all amazing. I come frequently and it’s consistently good. Portions are also generous but not sickly. FAMILY-RUN BUSINESS!!!! The food was excellent!!! Generous portions and a wonderfully warm staff. Kid-friendly: There’s a complete kids’ menu. The fries were great! Service: Dine-in. Meal type: Lunch. Price per person: $20–30.
