What is a gray day when we always have very sunny and happy days during our dinners at Pier 500? It absolutely does not affect anything. I also have my gray days, anyone can have gray days but the important thing is to know that one arrives at a restaurant where you are well received, where the hospitality is always there and the professionalism of all those smiles makes you feel at home adding the delicious dishes that are included in the Menu. One of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in my travels that checked every box of a foodie. Good prices, great selection of menu items, delicious food, good portion sizes yet not heavy, impeccable service, prompt seating and food order/delivery, the views, the atmosphere, indoor/outdoor dining options and just off the downtown shopping. Sydney served me with delight and enthusiasm. I appreciate her keen attention and genuine kindness to a solo traveler. I ordered the Parmesan crusted pan fried Walleye with wild rice, almond/cranberry green beans and scratch tartar sauce, Lavender Lemonade with lavender syrup/sugar and for dessert, the Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp with oatmeal crumble and vanilla...
Nice outdoor patio. Shaded, with pretty views of the park and river. It was busy for Sunday brunch. The road in front of the restaurant is loud with traffic, motorcycles, trucks, boats etc. everyone playing their music so sometimes it’s hard to have a conversation. The food was good. We had cheese curds, walnut blue cheese salad, mimosas and French toast. Parking: Meter parking along the river front during the weekday and a parking lot next to the restaurant. Additional street parking a block away.
We shared a chicken, cranberry salad, then we both has our own perfectly walleyed pike as our entrees. Great wine list, interesting cocktails list. Ended by sharing a huge piece of chocolate cake. Wonderful service with a perfectly prepared dinner. A great time! Parking: As long as there's no event at nearby Phipps Theatre, there's ample parking Kid-friendliness: There's were a number of family there with young children so appears restaurant is well able to hand children adults. First time dining here, we came for brunch after a Bachelorette Party weekend. We all loved the food, we got omelettes and eggs Benedict and ****** Mary’s! The service was fantastic, we were greeted by smiling faces at the hostess stand right away. Our waiter was kind, bubbly and brought the good energy we needed after a weekend of late nights. I will be coming back to Pier 500 next time I’m in the area!
I’ve been here several times and always enjoy the food and service!! The most recent time I went, it was quite busy so service was slow and a couple mistakes were made (not a big deal I get it), and they went way above and beyond to try to make it right. Genuinely the most wonderful service and experiences here! The yum yum steak bowl is my go-to ?
The best restaurant in Hudson. Service is always superlative. From cocktails to desert, there isn’t a miss on the menu. Their kids menu is an incredible value that you can feel good about your kids eating. And to top it all off, they treat their staff the right way.
