We were in the area and rang to see if they had a table for 2, apparently they don't take reservations after 7pm. This was not a problem and when we arrived, there were a few tables left that where quickly filled. We chatted to the staff and found that they can seat about 150 at a time. It didn't seem that big, as there were curtains and alcoves that made the restaurant seem cosy and welcoming. Service was carried out like clockwork from being seated with the menu, orders taken, and service of the meal all the time there was a member of staff sending updates to the kitchen for the smooth continuation of the meal for all the tables near us. Went for lunch as a family of four and while it as €178 it was worth every penny and more. Fruit de Mer was outstanding. The veal, pork and Hake main courses were just brilliant and no complaints. The desserts were to die for. Lovely wines at an affordable price. Service was good without being pushy so you could enjoy what you had in your own time. Sea front setting was a delight and the fact we could have our Labrador with is on the veranda was even better. RECOMMENDED. WE WILL GO AGAIN BEFORE WE LEAVE FRANCE. A lovely well appointed restaurant ideally placed with a large parking area. As it was lunchtime I took the entrée plus plat menu (31€ . I was dissapointed with my main dish. The cod was a little underdone, served with a tapioca goo. What happened to boiled potatoes ? The restaurant was packed on the terrace. I counted at least 8 servers all looking at their telephones to follow the orders. I have given a mark of 3. Lovely setting but don't expect miracles from the kitchen.
We have gone to Pilours restaurant a couple of times in the last few years. It's an amazing top class restaurant. Good food, good service and well worth going for an amazing meal. They have renovated and added to the wonderful experience. Right by the coast with amazing views. When we got married in 1988 we had our photos taken right by that coast before Pilour took it over. On est venus déjeuner en famille un samedi soir. la décoration est bonne, le personnel est très agréable le menu était bon, appétissant, belle présentation, qualité correcte et la quantité moyenne. Mais je m'attendais mieux ! pas de bouche amusante et pas de petites choses au prix du menu est décevant. vins et apéritifs prix corrects.
Noisy, busy room with a canteen atmosphere. No amuse bouche, unless you count a poor little ramekin of olives. Slow service (an hour before first course). The food was okay, but nothing special. There are lots of better restaurants locally, so we shan't be returning. Don't assume that because we're English that we don't live locally.
