I really like the fish and chips from here. It's light, not too greasy and the chips are crispy and tasty. However, the portion sizes vary dramatically every time we order from there. Last time we ordered two Flake packs and got huge pieces of Flake and a full tray of chips each. This time the Flake was much smaller and I only had about a handful of chips. Also we ordered a burger which came with mayo even though it didn't say mayo on the menu - this is one of my pet peeves! Totally puts me off using a place if I don't know what I'm getting.(we had food delivered so couldn't just complain and give it back which makes it even more annoying, especially as we asked for lots of other ingredients...
I had lunch at Pink Flake, luckily arriving in time for the special: Choice of fish (blue grenadier or Flake), grilled or battered, with a generous portion of salad from 3 choices )I had the Greek salad) and a plate full of the best chips. Highly recommended, friendly, fast service by people who understand good food and how to serve customers. A "must" if you're anywhere near Acland Street and looking for an excellent meal at a budget price.
Couldn't help myself. Twice in one week fish and chips. This time Pink flake in St Kilda. Food very fresh. Had blue grenadine and salt and pepper calamari. Different to the other shop I had in Richmond. But Spit on in flavour to delicate peice of fish melting in your mouth. This place is packed and you see why. **** good food.
I chanced upon this Fish n Chip café late at night as they were closing the door. The boys generously rebooted the cookers and cooked me a meal that was as good as any Fish n chips that I have had anywhere (yes even NZ) Make sure you visit this place.

Called in for lunch and thought we would try based on previous reviews. Did not disappoint. Fish, chips and Asian slaw rocked and the Calamari, chips and slaw was delicious and tender. We all want wanted some of Dan's Calamari!!
Happy with my $10 order for lunch! You get to choose the salad and the type of fish you want. Food was served hot and fish tasted really good and tender! Great place and service.
