This is a place that could be easy to overlook given it’s unassuming location. Once inside you will feel the difference as the decor is simple and bright, creating a light pleasant atmosphere with an Andean flair. The slide show on the HD tv is...pretty to watch. The menu is well laid out with the dishes explained – the quartet of young ladies (especially Abril) serving were attentive and willing to answer any queries. A lot of tables were reserved as it is not a large place. This is not a fast food place but a good food place and the little wait you might have is certainly worth it when the food arrives. The Anticuchos (beef hearts) was a good indicator of what was to follow. Tender skewers...

Located in a strip mall not far from Sunridge Mall, is this great Peruvian eatery. You walk into a very clean and very brightly coloured restaurant and are greeted by a very friendly server, Abril, with a big smile and a bigger welcome. A lot...of the menu lists different types and combinations of their rotisserie chicken and we did order the large piece with a beans and rice side dish. I had the paella, which was among the best ever. And, we shared an combination appetizer starter. Along with two soft drinks, the bill before tip, was $66, well worth it for the amazing food and service. Did I mention that we took half of the chicken and the paella home with us? Go for the chicken but do try...

Went on an early Saturday evening. Had the Pio con tacu tacu their signature chicken dish with a side of rice and white beans . We also had a special of ceviche served with a fried fillet of fish. Everything was delectable! Our server ...who was also the owner of this family run restaurant was funny, engaging and very helpful. When we could not decide what sauces we wanted with our chicken he brought us a serving of each one they offer (and gave us more for our leftover doggie bag . He was equally at ease chatting with us, helping out a mother with a crying child or explaining the menu to a couple who did was not familiar with Peruvian cuisine. He really contributed to an excellent experienc...

I'm a fanatic of Pio's delicious lomo saltado. The family ate again on Sunday, Peru's independence day, but most opting for the new polo saltado. I went for my old favourite and was a little disappointed to find that the quality of beef was not...quite as good as in the past. But still my favourite. To start off with we had the Pio size ceviche (extra spice) a great light starter that cam with yucca frita to prepare for the main course. Pio isn't cheap but the quality of the food is worth it.
