The owners Ray and Tawny Taylor (for the last 7 years have recently renovated the bar and kitchen. Their new invested manager Dave Gentile created and delivered an amazing atmosphere including a beautiful personally hand crafted blue copper topped bar. The bathrooms have been updated and are immaculate. The new menu was created by an outside professional chef an is awesome, healthy and fresh. Old favorites can still be found, some with a bit of a new twist. Be sure to try the bourbon street wings or the chicken satay! Steaks, pasta and burgers done to perfection. (I've had most of the menu, and I am looking forward to the summer menu! The craft beer selection is great! Daily drink specials....
The food here is fantastic! The buffalo with ginger teriyaki sauce was delightful. Our meals arrived quickly, and the bartender was both prompt and attentive. The place is clean and nicely decorated, with prices that are quite reasonable. It's clear that this restaurant has made significant improvements—it now boasts a cocktail menu with some unique mixes and a selection of special wines. What was once a bar primarily for heavy drinkers has transformed into a highly inviting spot for everyone.
The food was delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant, and there was a fantastic selection of beers. The live music today was also enjoyable. However, the staff seemed inattentive and quite slow. I never received my QR code for the beer menu, so I had to use Untappd to access it instead. Additionally, I waited 10 minutes between handing over my card and receiving my receipt.
My partner and I have visited this place twice, and we really enjoy it. It's fantastic to be just a few minutes away from a bar that offers delicious food, a fantastic bartender with a remarkable memory, and an excellent beer selection. We definitely want to come back more frequently and are eagerly anticipating the summer!

The food at The Pioneer (Hewitt, NJ) was delicious and very reasonably priced! The staff was attentive and friendly! We loved the outdoor dining in their beer garden! I had a grilled shrimp Greek taco--shrimp, lettuce, tomato, and homemade tzatziki sauce. It's like a gyro but in a pita. It was SO YUMMY!!!
Excellent bar. No longer just a hole in the wall, they've spruced up the decor with some good tables, new wallpaper, sensible signs and lighting, and some friendly staff. The rails on the pool table are a bit soft, but the table is always clean, and there's plenty of good quality house cues.
Love this place. They cycle though craft beers all the time. Staff is always friendly. Pool table, live music, untapping events, karaoke.. crowded during Wed .60¢ wing nights. Clean establishment. I haven't seen the late night weekend crowd yet.
My family loves this place!! We have a 4 years old and a baby, and we are always welcome here. The beer is great and the food is great!! We have this bar and the people who work it!!!

Great place.... the food is fabulous and the staff is friendly, helpful and very warm. The place is completely redesigned and looks great! Many great bands too. Five stars from me!
