Pioneer Restaurant

Not having a chance for breakfast that day we saw the Pioneer and decided to try it for an early lunch ... we were NOT disappointed. The restaurant has been there for over 50 years in the same location, and yes, the decor and layout is still the same but the food was exceptional; it's still like the "one-of" family restaurants of yesteryear where the owner (usually Mom & Pop) took great pride in serving good home-cooked food at a very respectable price.The staff were friendly and it seems to be a meeting place for the local people who seem to frequent often; although 'out-of-towners', we were treated with friendliness and courtesy and a sincere concern that we were enjoying our visit. This restaurant is over 50 years old and it looks it, but don't let the decor deter you. The portions are huge for the price and the food is tasty! I had the Pioneer Gyro with a side salad. When the plate arrived, the meal looked really plain, but it was yum! Very flavourful greek sauce on the salad and tzaziki sauce on the gyro. The bread with the gyro had this buttery goodness! The staff were friendly, but the service left a little to be desired. Coffee didn't come with cream and toast didn't come with jam/butter. Great little eatery. Old fashioned look and feel, in a diner setting. Food quality however is second to none. Seems to me like a family run place, who have pride in their food. The place is out of date, and this may turn of some patrons. But the food is plentiful, and of good quality. We are regulars and plan to go back.

Great inexpensive place for breakfast. Had bacon and eggs. Decent coffee. Good price. Old decor - the booths need new benches as they are so used they bend down a bit. Réservez une table maintenant

Good food and friendly staff. The place could use a bit of a spruce up to make it more welcoming. The quality of food was great and you get a lot for the price you pay

This is a polish deli Ok let's begin They have cold cuts, fresh sauerkraut and pickles that you can scoop yourself Lots of polish condiments.

It`s only place close to work, at a walking distance where I had heard I can get a deli sandwichIt`s a deli/polish general store.

We have eaten many times over the years and the food is good, the décor hasn't changed but the staff is friendly.
