To my fellow vegans: please note that the items labeled as vegetarian here are not necessarily vegan, so be sure to confirm with the staff on a case-by-case basis if a specific dish is vegan. I tried the falafel platter along with a side of baba ganoush, and everything tasted exceptionally fresh. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, offering plenty of seating and two restrooms. While I don't give five stars to places that serve animal products, I still think this is a solid spot for a quick meal. My only suggestion for the owners would be to include a vegan label alongside the vegetarian ones to make it easier for customers.
the food and service are both amazing! the owner came to us personally to ask how everything was! very warm and welcoming. we ordered salmon cababs with fries and Israeli salate (the Platter option) everything was cooked to perfection. the best we eat in a really long time. they were so crispy, crispy and tasteful. Lachs cababs were delicious. baba ganoush was from the charts. hummus was good. falafel from this world! we also ordered marzipan rugelach and it was perfect! this place is a hidden gem and approx. 5 10 minutes from our house. we will certainly return and recommend it to everyone! 10/10!
Stumbled into here unexpectedly and decided to give it a try. They are more Israeli food which we were curious about as usually when having Middle Eastern we are more used to Afghani, Turkish, or so. We tried a few dishes including shawarma and a type ofhummus with meat (it has a unique name that escapes me currently). The owner dropped by and was great to speak with. Worth avisit for Middle Eastern cuisine in a nice town! Parking is similar to many other places in this area which is usually meteredon the street or the nearby parking lots.
The best falafel sandwich and chicken shawarma I?ve ever tried. The pita is house made and soo soft. They make everything fresh and with so much care. You can taste it in the food quality. This place is one of my staples for lunch in between clientmeetings for a healthy, tasty, quick lunch. The owner takes so much pride in his food and makes it with all heart. Make sure youget their hot sauce to go with your sandwich it?s the perfect kick of spice. And if time permits, I get their coffee andbaklava. Best coffee I?ve had in all of Millburn. I visited this restaurant for the first time and had a wonderful experience. I ordered two plates and a lamb kebab, which was absolutely perfect. The hummus was amazing, and the pita was incredibly soft. The meat was cooked to perfection. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that my water was not refilled. I plan to ask the waiter when they come by, but I prefer not to have to worry about it. I appreciate having an attentive server, especially since I drink a lot of water. Overall, it was a great meal!
This place has a laid-back vibe, and the staff were super friendly and efficient. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The hummus, baba ganoush, Israeli salad, and falafel were all fantastic. The falafel was light, crispy, and flavorful. I can’t wait to go back and try more items! The Turkish coffee was also a delightful treat. I especially appreciated that the menu clearly indicates which dishes are vegetarian and gluten-free—definitely a plus!

Our waitress, a lovely young lady, was particularly delightful, and the owner (I believe he was the owner) stopped by our table several times to ensure we were satisfied and enjoying our meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and I can't wait to go back. I absolutely love Israeli and Middle Eastern cuisine!
Whenever I'm feeling unwell, my partner gets a pint of their red lentil soup, which always hits the spot. They have especially remarkable hummus and tahini, which contribute to the amazing flavor of their chicken shawarma. The pita is soft and fluffy, and the falafel is not overly greasy. I’m so glad I decided to stop by Pita on Essex! I ordered the falafel platter, which comes with six delicious, crispy falafel balls, a generous serving of rice (about the size of a softball!), grilled vegetables, Israeli salad, warm pita bread, and tahini sauce. The food is tasty, and for $15, the portion is quite generous.
