Verona 39 has been our local Italian joint for some years, having changed hands at least 3 times. The current owners are a passionate, young couple who work hard to grow their new business of some 18 months. Pumi excels as front-of-house with her warm and friendly approach while Nithin, with 12 years prior experience at a Lygon St. Italian restaurant, also loves a natter when he isn't concocting a new addition to the menu. I found my Moroccan lamb gourmet pizza cooked to perfection with finely ground mince, delicately spiced and punching with zesty flavour from the right amount of red onion, capsicum slices, spinach and fresh lemon juice. My son relished his BBQ chicken with the typical gust...
After driving past this small restaurant in Camberwell for some time it was the perfect place for the quick meal after a full day. Only a small sitting area but early in the evening there were families having pizzas and pasta. We both had the spaghetti which was excellent in texture and freshness. The meals were not huge which was a pleasant change and reasonably priced . The Polo Funghi was delicious and I finished it all (I was starving) and my partner had the Calabrese which he found very tasty. If you live in the area give this place a try it is BYO but there is a bottle shop in the nearby supermarket and parking in the side street.
Our old pizza place changed hands and alas, so did their pizzas. However, we found this little gem, Verona 39 nestled among a group of drab shops on Toorak rd and its become our new regular. You can eat in but we do take-aways. Love the toppings, very tasty pizzas and its all wood fired. The owners are young and friendly - hope they stay for a bit. My only gripe is that the lighting inside is rather dull.
Really average pizza. Ordered Bufalla and honestly couldn't initially find the tiny pieces of prosciutto which were burnt and hidden under a tonne of cheese and a garden bed of rocket salad. Won't go again. We would rather spend a bit more and go to Il Birrificio up the road or any othet local pizzeria who knows how to make a proper gourmet pizza. Really disappointed with this place.

We met up with a group of friends on Friday night and had a great time at Verona39. The choice of food on the menu was great, huge choice. Service was excellent and very attentive to us all. We did not wait very long for the food and it was presented really well and tasted very nice. Well done to all the staff at Verona39, we will be back for sure.
We loved to go there - not any more after change of owner just recently. My pizza was burnt, topping barely recognisable. Pasta was NOT al-dente, sauce, instead of sticking to the pasta as every Italian Mama would do, was watery on the bottom of the plate. We asked four times for chilli on the side and waiting for it still today.
We have recently had take away pizza from this shop twice using Menulog. On both occasions the food has been ready when promised. The pizza bases have been well cooked and the toppings were generous and very tasty. Good value as well. The shop looks inviting inside and we plan to try eat in as well as more take away.
Rustic charm and location are this restaurants main features. While the majority of their business is pizza pasta and other italian staples are available. The pizza is very good though. At the time of our visit coffee was not on the menu which was a disappointment.

I was thrilled with the pizza here. Topping poor, dry slightly burnt pizza and the tomato base was ok-ish. I won't be bothering with this one again even though it is my closest Italian place.
Verona 39 was recently taken over by new owners a family,and must say the food and service is even better than it was before and it was great then. High quality tasty food at a great price.
