I have always enjoyed the pizza from Pizza King in the past, but today's experience was disappointing. When I went to pay for my order with a credit card, I was taken aback to learn that they only accept cash or checks. This policy wasn't mentioned on their website, during my phone order, or even on the door. The only indication was a poorly worded sign taped to the register. Since I didn't have any cash on me, I had to find another pizza place that accepted cards, and to top it off, their pizza was $3 cheaper. They've lost my business.
I ordered two strombolis from this restaurant. They were very burnt when I got home and noticed. I brought them back for replacements, as they should have known they were burnt when they took them out of the oven. It's disappointing that they would serve food in that condition. It seems like they were hoping I wouldn't come back to exchange them, but I did. Now waiting for two new strombolis. Hopefully this time they will be better. The lesson learned is to always check your food before you leave the restaurant. This was a dinner meal.
I didn't sample the pizza, but I saw a sign for freshly fried chicken and decided to stop on my way to Valparaiso. The staff were very friendly, and they fried the chicken right in front of me, so it was piping hot. I had to wait a little while for it to cool down. For under $7, I got three pieces of chicken and two large fried potato wedges, which I thought was a fantastic deal! Overall, I would consider it a great dinner option in the $1-10 price range per person.
The food was average overall. The breadsticks were excellent, but the pizza was just okay. On the other hand, the service was impressive; the staff were friendly and attentive. However, the dining area could really use a significant upgrade, as it felt sparse and outdated.

I always recommend getting the Strom with extra onions—it's fantastic! My granddaughter enjoys the ham and cheese sandwich, and the breadsticks are always delicious. Thank you, Pizza King!
