Pizza Express as a brand name comes in for its fair share of bad press and the Reigate branch is no exception. Indeed, so indifferent are the people of Reigate and its environs to this link in the Pizza Express chain, this will be the first review to be posted on Tripadvisor since last October. Now come on folks, do you really expect us to believe that nobody has enjoyed a meal in this restaurant over the past 11 months enough to log a few kind words on this website? Well, if that really is the case, then we would like to set the record straight. Yes, the interior is tired and dated. But that’s being taken care of. The Reigate branch closes after service this evening (Sunday, September 12th)...
A group of seven of us decided to give Pizza Express a try on a whim. Despite there being plenty of empty tables, a waitress told us they couldn't seat all of us. We suggested combining tables or squeezing around a round table by the window, but she seemed uninterested. Just as we were about to leave, a man who appeared to be the manager approached us and went out of his way to accommodate us. We were offered the downstairs area all to ourselves! It was puzzling why the waitress was so quick to turn us away. Our meal was decent, typical of Pizza Express, but the service left much to be desired. The team leader/manager was great, but the waiting staff was lacking.
Excellent. Restaurant was packed with families but service was friendly and efficient. One of the waiters apologised that we had to wait for our mains even though it seemed like a completely reasonable time to wait in a bust restaurant! Nice that he took the time to do so though. Food all delicious. Only tiny niggle is that the salad in the middle of the Leggera pizza came dressed and my son doesn't particularly like dressing a separate pot of dressing would have been a nice touch. All in all excellent though and we look forward to coming back.
Some of the food arrived and the rest did not. Half of our group made the decision to start eating because it was going cold. Everyone had finished eating by the time my partner received her meal. I complained to staff and we didn’t have to pay for one pizza but as far as I was concerned the meal was ruined. I ate my pizza cold after waiting so long. As well as poor service, the food is of low quality for the price and I have had far better Italian food for a fraction of this cost elsewhere. Réservez une table maintenant
So first I called the restaurant to order as my partner can't have dairy so wanted vegan cheese on the pizza, they said to order online and add a note, can't add a note on deliveroo, so had to call again to say vegan cheese..... Why is it not an option on the app!!! Delivery turned up we got COLD pizza, 1 pizza was BURNT and didn't even taste of bbq and the starter was just a joke, small and no sauce. Won't be ordering here again!!
The food at the restaurant was good, but we were disappointed to not have an assigned waiter, resulting in poor service. We had to flag down staff for basic things like black pepper and a pizza cutter. The adults' food was brought out promptly, but the kids' meals took a while to arrive.
