Came here yesterday with 2 friends and 3 children in total. The first waitress we had was fantastic. Spoke in Italian to my Italian friend. Food was really nice, but the manager walking around the room looked to be in a really bad mood with...no smiles for customers. After we had finished, it took over 20 minutes for the staff to clear our table and bring out the childrens desserts we tried several times to get their attention as they rushed past us and we felt ignored. By this point the children were getting fidgety, totally understandable. This caused a fair few dirty looks from the manager. The restaurant was very cold with all air conditioning units and ceiling fans on. We moved table 3 times because we were so cold. I then watched at least 4 other groups of diners looking up at the ceiling and then moving tables. Many diners put jumpers and jackets on whilst they were eating, and yet the staff seemed to be oblivious! Surely you must be trying to reduce any unwanted costs in these difficult times? You clearly can't afford to have enough staff judging by the amount of time we and a number of other diners waited to pay their bills. So why not turn the **** air conditioning off and save the electricity. It was only 18C outside for goodness sake! Having said that, the food was fin...
So we set ourselves up, where were tables outside and not reserved, had a lot of glass carry outside and the entrance showed that they did not clean the table over an hour and a half, we got said someone was short with us. a little later I sent my partner to see if we could serve, got us a booking and we said no, but we were on an empty unbooked table, they said we could sit there. my question is. why empty unbooked tables have when we are not allowed to sit and are served like all others! we went away because we didn't want to sit on a opaque table for 20 minutes before we were even released, let alone served!

Delicious food, staff very friendly, as the restaurant got busier we did find it harder to get the staffs attention and did wait quite some time before being able to get the bill. Coffee machine was broken at time of visit but I understand these things happen. Very cosy atmosphere!
My favourite pizza express consistently good food, nice ambience and they also have Rachel, who just seems to hold the service together. Lots of staff changes as per most places so it’s good to know there’s someone who really knows what great service is all about.
