we should have known that many restaurants on 27 september would be closed for lunch. juli, the patron saint for blanes, but we would eat here in the evening in the last three years and never disappoint. it was a busy service, but the personal was. attentive and friendly and we went for the menu of the day as a very good price-performance option. my man enjoyed his roquefort salad (chilli oil optional, but as an adventurous spicy lover, he tried cautiously and gave him his thumbs up for my starter I fancied try the carpaccio of the bark as something new but for one of my favorite vegetables spinat and as my cassole I came steaming with bubbles, creamy to stick with something familiar, my other half had a pizza with chorizo and spicy wobbles (he does not blande, followed by an ice cream dessert, that, I think was nougatin and a kind of likör soaked cake base. my high point of the meal was the duck breast, perfectly crumbling discs of the most succulent magret' I have ever tasted in many years to eat it in france. my crema catalana has not disappointed. although drinks were included, we did not like our beer/white wine as well as some others in the two weeks in blanes, but this is personal taste and nothing to free us from returning to pizzaiolo. recommended for its atmosphere, service and eating long it can continue.
