I write this review being a resident to Locarno now for 1,5 years and trying many pizzeria's in the area.It is simple. Do not waste your time in the piazza Grande. A very short walk one street upwards and left gets you straight in front of Primavera.Pizza is prepared in an wood fired oven, not a gas commercial type, which most locals use. Depending on the season and amount of people present, will determine the period you wait for your awesome pizza. Literally 1 x chef preparing each pizza. Yes this might seem impractical BUT doing it this way means great consistent pizza that is worth the wait. Ice Cream is generally good at all places in Locarno but nothing better than a great ice cream aft...
On Tripadvisor as well as on the Google ratings this pizzeria appeared in the top 3, so we decided to go there. The service was very friendly and fast. Unfortunately this is really the only positive thing to say. The pizzas were really disgusting. Dough...and sauce were bland, all ingredients (mushrooms, artichokes, etc. were clearly from the can and were correspondingly watery and disgusted me to eat. The salami on my friend 's pizza was also of very bad quality. We were very disappointed because we were actually looking forward to a real pizza in Ticino.
This is a simple no-nonsense place. The menu offers almost exclusively their brick-oven pizzas, and some gelatos. The staff is efficient and courteous, and the terrace is spacious, quiet and enjoyable although not offering any stunning views of Locarno's old town. The pizza however really...is worth going there! Very tasty, the dough remains crusty even when the pizza is colder. Delicious. Very reasonable prices.

Apart from the fact that i had to wait 15 min to get a menu and 40 min to have a pizza the pizza was really good. The service is a point for caution: they delivered somebody else's pizza the first time and then they realized the mistake and ordered mine. One tip: if you want to try it do not sit across the street but rather close to the entrance. Clients on that spot were better served.
