We went in here for a mid week dinner while staying in Melbourne, mostly because we needed to get out of the cold, and were having trouble deciding where to get dinner. From the outside it appeared very noisey and we were leaving when we realised there was another area where people were just dining. The menu was typical Irish pub fare and we both found something that appealed on a cold night. We ordered a glass of house red wine, but both agreed it actually wasn't drinkable. Dropped by for few main meals as I've been here before with some business Co workers. My colleagues ordered the slow cooked lamb shoulder which was not so tender and juicy ( supposed to be slow cooked) found it eatable but had better lamb roasts at home. I went for the 26$ seafood chowder soup and got a type if seafood slash cream of celery slash not so tasty & the 2 very dry large chewy King Prawns sitting on a few slices of looked like coles bought bread that had been char grilled was not nicest at all so I was very disappointed. We dropped in as this was the closest place to where we had friends staying.Irish Pubs can be a bit hit and miss in my experience but this one was great.Firstly the staff are excellent. Really happy to assist and bright exuberent personalities.Secondly our meals were very very good. I tried the beef and Guinness pie. It was almost a home cooked variety with loads of vegetables on the side. Thoroughly enjoyed our night here.And price? You might be very pleasantly surprised !!!!!

Excellent, cold winters night, we had beef and Guiness pie and the seafood chowder. Huge serves but full of flavor, served piping hot. Wonderful comfort food, we left very full and satisfied, great prices too! Service was very attentive, couldn't fault. Highly recommended
Went at happy hour, didn't have a reservation but staff found a table for two. Drinks very well priced at happy hour and meals were value for money. Live entertainment a bonus. Service is very good, hence why there is always a crowd. Becoming a favourite !
Booked for table of 15. Greeted with happy friendly smiles. The menu selection was excellent, lots choices. The servings were nice and big. That keep the hungry team very happy. Service was outstanding. We left very satisfied. Nice work PJ O'Brien's.
Pub was really packed , we were lucky to get a table, 7 people & all had an amazing meal ! The seafood chowder was the best!!

Stopped by for drinks, great atmosphere, staff were friendly, had a great time before going out for dinner with our group.
We called in here after a show for a couple of nightcaps...love the feel of this pub, it is always a happy atmosphere.
