On ordering our steaks well done, the waitress summoned the owner who proceeded to give us and the other diners a lecture about fillet steak and why it could not be cooked well done. He offered to slice it up and cook it Mexican style . The clear assumption was that we needed to be educated about our food, and didn 't know what we were talking about. In fact, we have been lucky enough to eat in hundreds of great restaurants around the world, from London to Argentina, and from small basic restaurants like P Korn to Michelin starred.
