I’ve been a fan of Planet Fitness throughout the United States for 6 years. I love the hours and availability of different locations. However, I have consistently been going to this Marietta location for the past two months and have gotten very negative feedback from one of the employees, Barbie. All of the other employees have brought positivity and welcome the customers that come in daily. Last Friday night, Barbie decided to close the Black Card Member Spa 30 minutes early. I finished my workout and was excited to tan, only to see her with gloves on saying no to me because she just cleaned it. The spa services are what people pay extra money for. Update Sept 1 Due to zero surveillance cameras this place is now a target for thieves... 3 vehicles were broken into this morning. Org review If you want to take cool showers in a poorly lit shower area, this is your gym.If you want to have to stop changing in a changing room to give up your chair to a disabled person (she was literally yelling that she is disabled and needed the chair more than I did in a full locker room of other ladies) because there aren 't enough chairs in the changing rooms, this is your gym.If you prefer staff to have earbuds in at the front desk, this is your gym.If you want to deal with people taking naps on the hydro beds, and just lottering around, this is your gy...
I go to the Planet Fitness on Roswell Rd in Marietta GA. This gym is seldom crowded, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is some of the patrons sit on their phones in the 30 minute express area. It can be annoying to be trying to move from one area to another and not be able to move to the next machine because someone is hanging out not working out on the machines. Signage notes this is not allowed and there is a nice open area to sit, but I have never seen an employee ask someone to move or leave the express area so this becomes the hang out room.
Not a fan of this location… for one it is SO crowded. The two times Ive been, almost every single treadmill was taken you just feel like you’re at the mall/in a school cafeteria. First time I went, one of the male workers found my social media from looking up my name after i signed in.. creepy. Second time I went, I accidentally went into a room that was reserved for a class. I realized what I had done and respectfully walked out, but one of the workers who saw me do this was extremely rude and condescending about the honest mistake I had made. Weird vibes all around. The gym is very clean and well taken care of. Has all the machines I need and everything works like it should! I’ve noticed crowds are pretty spread out, so it’s never so busy that you can’t get in. I LOVE the amenities here. The tanning beds are top notch and the massage chairs are about as close to a real massage as you can get.
Highly don't recommend. They started charging me for the premium membership after the first month. Then when I called to ask about it, they just claimed they weren't and hung up on me like I literally can't see it on my bank statements. Don't waste your money. You can find a better gym.
