Pointers is a bar and eatery hidden away behind Karlsplatz. It is allegedly a South African haunt though seems mostly to be populated by locals including some of the student population of Vienna's 4th district.It is a bar that has not succumbed to the need for high powered lighting so has a more traditional pub feel, a comfortable place to be. There are quite a few tables in the main room normally with seating for 6 but it is a bit of a squeeze. The smoking room seems to draw most of the locals in which is a bonus for those after a bit more space. We wanted to watch the New Orleans Saints NFL game while visiting Vienna. I was surprised to find the bar packed with locals, and the bartender was wearing a saints shirt. They are able to show any NFL game. (Assuming they are open due to time difference. A table of locals invited us to sit with them, and we still remain friends. Ein alteingesessener Pub. Meiner Meinung nach ist das beste der Außenbereich, der dann oft belegt ist. Grün, ruhig, urban. Bedienung immer nett und schnell. Preise eher günstig. Sowohl Essens-, als auch Getränkekarte ohne große Überraschungen. Ambiente innen eher hallenartig, aber trotzdem oft gut besucht.
Superb service, with the staff going out their way to make sure everything is in order. They'll find you the game you want to see (provided there's tv's free for it), no matter how obsecure the airing broadcast might end up being. Food portions are on the large size and beer is good and cold! Prost!

We wanted to watch a football game while on holiday in Vienna. The staff at the bar were very friendly and set up a screen with the game for us upon request. The food is also very good, highly recommend their burgers! Would definitely visit again if we're ever back in the city.
We went there to have our x-mas dinner in December 2013. We were group of 9 people.It is mainly a student pub. They have different kinds of burgers including vegetarians. + Good food + Nice location + Average service - Crowded

The burgers are made of good quality habe a fair size and in the happy hout are really affordable. It is highly recommended to have a beer or two and enjoy

Spacious and relaxed. Good range of Irish and local drinks. Burgers are excellent - go for the bottom one on the menu. Great place to start the evening.
Good food and athmosphe plus friendly staff with a knack for picking up an Irish accent! Few minutes walk from Karlplatz & main shopping area!
