Poivre Rouge - Réserver une table

We stopped at the Poivre Rouge on our way to get the car ferry from Dunkerque. The first lady that greeted us was not really very friendly, but she didn't seem to speak English so that might have been why. Our waitress, Emilia, was lovely and very attentive! The service was fast and friendly. Unfortunately, there is very little on the menu for vegetarians - I had the salad plate as this was one of the only options (the other was a goat's cheese toast) but then found that almost all of the salads on the salad bar actually contained fish or meat, so this was disappointing. Lots of the salads were pickled or very mayonnaise-heavy, so I'd probably recommend having it as a side or starter rather...

The entrecote was shockingly fat. Raw instead if the requested medium. The meat wasn't seasoned at all. The chips were fried in old oil by the taste of it and vegetables consisted of a leaf of lettuce that shouldn't have been on a plate yesterday let alone today.We got our drinks for free but I rather would have paid the drinks because the 16 euro per plate was almost criminal considering the state of what was put on the table. Avoid at all cost.

Je suis arrivé dès tôt pour le ferry. J'ai commandé des boissons à une table. Courte attente puis commande de plats principaux, l'un était un hamburger, l'autre était un bar à salades. Le burger est arrivé un peu plus tard, les assiettes et les frites sont arrivées. La nourriture était très bonne, je n'ai rien à redire, les prix sont très bons. Il manquait un peu de service, je reviendrais ici.

Nous avons mangé ici deux soirs de suite et les deux soirs la nourriture était excellente. Nous étions 8 et tout le monde était content de son repas. Je recommande l'entrecôte et le buffet de salades. Le personnel était très sympathique et parlait bien anglais.

We enjoyed a very nice dinner at Poivre Rouge before taking the Eurotunnel back to the UK. The share platter to start was great value and our mains were excellently cooked. Very friendly staff and happy to speak English.
