Do not be discouraged by the garage doors or the alley location, this hidden gem is worth a visit. Located two blocks east of the Holborn Tube Station, near the Dominican Republic tourist office, you will find an alley called Little Turnstile. We began our meal with Pirogues and sausages, along with a variety of flavored vodkas. The staff were incredibly friendly and made sure everyone was well looked after. To finish off our dining experience, we enjoyed cappuccinos and cake at Little Venice, just a short walk across the alley. The prices were surprisingly affordable for London.

On our first social visit to London post lockdown, decided to go back to Bar Polski now that’s it’s reopened. Bit of decorating has been done and all the proper COVID measures have been set up, with spacing between tables and unobtrusive screens set up between them. The menu’s still the same though, with our favourite Polish dishes and beers and the service is also excellent and friendly! In these hard times for pubs and restaurants, especially those that are slightly off the beaten track, would recommend that this little bar is sought out for a taste of something different!

I went to a restaurant called Polish Only. I had to go up to the counter to get a menu and place my order for food and drinks. There is a surcharge for orders under £5 paid with a debit card. I asked for an orange juice and specifically pointed to the £1.50 option, but the bartender gave me the £2.50 one, which I only realized when I received the bill. I ordered the beetroot soup with dumplings, but it was a challenge to find the dumplings as there were only four small, undercooked dumplings in a lot of soup. I do not recommend this restaurant for food.

Stopped off last night and was not disappointed. Superb selection of Polish beverages and food tucked away in a small alley round the corner from Holborn station.
