Je ne sais vraiment pas comment évaluer cela! Pour célébrer notre anniversaire en beauté, nous avions réservé une expérience en coffret cadeau comprenant une chambre, le petit-déjeuner et le menu Belcastel avec un menu fixe de cinq plats accompagnés de vin pour chaque plat. L'endroit était magnifique... et la chambre était bonne, bien équipée et confortable. Nous sommes arrivés pour dîner dans une salle trop éclairée, bruyante et animée. Un point très bas pour l'ambiance et un point encore plus bas pour le service. Nous avons commencé avec le cocktail de la maison puis nous étions complètement confus lorsque le sommelier nous a demandé si nous avions choisi le vin et préférions une bouteille...
Le restaurant est en partie magnifique, mais le service est en dessous de tout et a gâché une grande partie de l'expérience. L'emplacement est très spécial, et j'ai beaucoup de sympathie pour cette maison dirigée par la cinquième génération. Cependant, la vérité est ce qu'elle est : les employés du service semblaient inexpérimentés, impuissants et désespérés... Demander de l'eau a nécessité plusieurs demandes. Les plats sont arrivés après l'entrée, et commander plus de bouteilles a demandé beaucoup d'efforts, car le service a simplement disparu pendant un long moment et n'a jamais demandé si nous avions besoin de quelque chose d'autre. We came back after so many years and we had to pass by this food institution.The place is just magical and the serenity of the place is fascinating to the extend that hard to...to leave the place.The food is generous and because the region serve generous portion but the flavor is what is all about, the memory of the food in your palate, despite of this, the presentation is up to the level and service very friendly, polite and relaxing at eh same time. The owner have time to talk to everyone and that a plus for a fine dinning. Go and let the her to advice you and just spend money becassue you have decided to look for the place so let it go...
The food was fantastic, Interesting flavours artfully decorating each plate. The riverside setting is very pretty but without the impact of a Château. My lower review is because two people in our group wanted the lower cost menu and the Restaurant said that it wasn’t...available without offering an alternative for the same price forcing my guests into the higher bracket of cost. Not very impressed by this at all. Beware if you go on a budget!

we went to dinner and sat on the terrace overlooking the ouysse (influencing the Dordogne River). eating was traditional cuisine prepared from the périgord with precision and raffinesse. the food was delicious and the service was efficient and professional. The restaurant is worth it all the way. they will not be disappointed.
Nous avons été gentiment recommandés à cet endroit par notre hôtel et avons adoré chaque détail. Depuis les années 1880 et dirigé par la même famille. Chaque plat était vraiment parfait. Mérite bien une critique Michelin.
We had a wonderful meal here, possible one of the best meals in this rigion. Every dish is very inetertsting and with so many dimensions of flavours and textures. Very nice wines also. We will be back
