We wholeheartedly agree with the numerous positive reviews already written. After dining at many restaurants on Long Island, we have found Popei's to be one of the best. The restaurant is very clean, comfortable, and charming, although it is not overly fancy. However, it offers a wide variety of beautifully prepared, fresh seafood and non-seafood dishes. We were pleased to find that nothing had a fishy smell, and everything we tried was delicious, from the appetizers to the main courses to the desserts, all at reasonable prices. Popei's was the first restaurant my wife Selene and I went to 26 years ago after moving to Long Island. We have been back there over and over with friends and family through the years and have never been disappointed. Food, staff and owner are the best. Returned St. Patrick's Day 2023 and the 14 oz. Lobster Tail special was spectacular. Even came with corned beef if you wanted. Have been there three times since and every time is better than the last. I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner, with a price range of $30-50 per person. I give the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5-star rating. I highly recommend trying the Red dish.
