My family and I were visiting from out of town and decided to try out a local restaurant instead of a big chain pizza place. We were extremely pleased with our decision. The staff were friendly and accommodating, allowing us to create our own custom pizza. The portions of toppings were generous and the crust was delicious. We will definitely be ordering from this place again. We also noticed that the restaurant was busy, with the phone constantly ringing off the hook as we waited for our order. This was a good sign of the popularity of the restaurant even on a Tuesday night.
When I travel I am always looking for the perfect pizza. And for me the perfect pizza is the North American style; tasty, cheesy, lots of ingredients, a chewy fluffy crispy cruts. The pizza for Poppa's is all this, and more. I ordered the simple all dressed version, as I always do when trying a new pizza. This one was the ultimate flavor-texture culinary tandem.The only negative point; they are in Parksville, on Vancouver Island! So far from mainland!
This is definitely one of the best pizza places I've ever been to. The pizza is thick and bursting with flavor. Just a couple of slices of a medium pizza was more than enough for me, even though I usually eat half a large pizza by myself from Pizza Hut. I ordered the Big Guy pizza which was absolutely loaded with toppings. I would give this place a perfect 10/10 rating and highly recommend it.
Did our research for where to get pizza for our first night in Parksville. Poppa's was the clear winner after reading reviews and asking our resort's front desk staff. Delicious and very fresh tasting pizza. Not greasy at all with plenty of toppings. Pick up only. Great hours on Friday, Saturday night (open til 2:30am! We were staying at a local resort and decided to order pizza. Poppa's was recommended as one of the few non-chain options. They were very friendly and offered to deliver to our resort, which I don't think they typically do. The pizza was calorie-worthy. Make sure you like cheese, I think that's the most I've ever had on a pizza.
What a wonderful gem to find! The man who runs the place is friendly and accommodating. The price is reasonable, especially considering a medium served as both dinner and breakfast for 2 people. The vegetarian pizza was so good, I'm still thinking about it days later. The best memory I brought home with me from Parksville.
I arrived late in Parksville and no restaurants were open. Even places who said they were open till 10 were closed! Finally found Poppa's and they were still open. Received the friendliest service from the owners and the pizza was amazing!!! Can't say enough good things!
