Food (5/5): Empanadas were good and flavorful . The only improvemengs would be that the ham and cheese one barely had any bam and some of the outer breading of the empanadas was hard. Additionally, we ordered the risotto and the lomito completo. The risotto was delicious with nice creaminess and the lomito completo had really nicely toasted bread with delicious combination of steak, ham, cheese, egg, and toppings. Also got the pear cake with dulce de leche ice cream which was really good. It was the right amount of sweetness and the textures between the bread, fruit, and ice cream was perfect. We started with two cocktails: Fifi and Fernando. For appetizers, we ordered the Empanada de Carne and the Chorizo Criollo y Morcilla. We also tried the Camarones con ensalada de Palmitos, which the staff kindly split into two servings for us. For the main course, we had the Costilla Al Malbec con Chipa Guazu and potatoes. I have to say, the food was outstanding! The chorizo and morcilla were incredibly flavorful. The shrimp was cooked to perfection, and the palm hearts complemented the dish beautifully. The short rib was absolutely delicious—super tender and juicy, not at all dry! I also opted for a baked potato as a side, which was a healthier choice compared to fries. However, I found the corn cake to be a bit too soft; it fell apart when I tried to cut into it, but the flavor was still enjoyable. I absolutely loved the dessert recommended by the staff! It featured three small, macaroon-like pastries paired with a scoop of mate ice cream, which was the best part. The caramel sauce added a wonderful touch. On the other hand, the pear tart didn't stand out much; it's okay if you’re really craving dessert, but it wasn’t memorable compared to the ice cream.
The food here was so good, it really made me think about flying over to Argentina for more haha! My friend and I got the Lomito Completo (steak sandwich) and the Costilla Al Malbec (short rib). The short rib and the steak were well cooked and tender both are so delicious! I also got a cocktail, which was nice albeit a bit sweet. The restaurant itself has a cute, cozy feel. The restaurant was cozy with a nice atmosphere, making it suitable for a date night or a relaxed outing with friends. The service was good, but unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. All the dishes were rather bland and unimpressive; we found ourselves reaching for salt and pepper to add some flavor. The cocktails were just average as well. To be honest, it’s not a place I would choose to return to.
I wanted to share this experience because the meat that you are going to try here is literally the best ! Argentina is familiar to have a good quality of the meat so Porteño is going to assure you in that. The steak, polenta with the sausage omg.Definitely coming back. I cannot remember the name of the sever but he was spectacular. Thank you!
