Ok come here have a seat. Anytime you see not only a steady stream of local construction workers choosing a place, but also all the employees leaving with food from that place, trust the instinct to go there. We were just skating through Chicago needing a quick meal on a long road trip and was Portillo's ever a nice surprise! We both had the italian beef sandwich with hot peppers and a chocolate shake, both of which were exceptionally good. The bread hit all my markers- soft, crispy out side, not too mushy where it was wet from the beef. The beef- SO THINLY SLICED. A common sandwich uncommonly well made. Pretty sure we'll be stopping in on our way home.
Portillo's consistently delivers a good level of quality, although there have been some occasional problems, like a tea machine that is often out of order and inconsistencies in the portion sizes of the Italian beef. The ordering experience itself is a bit of a mixed bag—some staff members are quite good, while the unpredictability of how orders are announced adds a quirky charm to every visit. Despite these small drawbacks, the overall quality remains solid.
Went through the drive through today and Sabrina was awesome patient and kind and took my order and made sure the workers inside made it how I asked. Thank you sabrina! Keep up the great work!
Was able to pull in with T/T Saturday evening for a quick bite can't go thru Chicago area without stopping at Portillo's Good chocolate pie Italian beef mmm

The staff at this restaurant are friendly, and the food is excellent. They also speak both English and Spanish. S and E.
Food is always good at portillo's. Rodeo burger had it for the first time. I will have it again for sure!!
Got to be honest they can never get an order right but when they do it's very very good
I can't quite figure out why the elderly woman at the cash register seems so upset.
