we wanted to try porto already. it is on a very tiny road in north bergen, they do not have a parking space, but fortunately on a Sunday later on the day there were street parking available. very tiny restaurant decorated with a lot of celebrity portraits, they played the movie that misfits, and although it was fun, I am not really sure how it was connected to the restaurant, but that is ok. it was fun to see. all the servers were very nice and attentive, although a thing that is constantly annoyed me in most restaurants in this country that server come and clear dings out of the table while they are in the middle of eating. that is something that server should not be taught. my man and I sh...
Came for dinner tonight to celebrate a friend, started with some drinks. Ordered the Parchita, which had my favorite passion fruit purée vodka soo refreshing. My boyfriend got a vodka martini which was okay but they put a pitted olive on a toothpickwhich i?ve never seen before and he hurt his tooth. For apps we started with the burrata picante, burrata and prosciutto werevery good but focaccia bread that came with it wasn?t the best. It's nice that this place is now on Open Table. Started with roasted artichokes and a Margherita pizza- both delicious! For dinner, both people at my party had the Bolognese sauce they enjoyed. I had the orchid and must say that was probably the best I had. We would like to have some bread to eat the delicious sauce, but the only bread available is Focaccia you need to buy. I would suggest offering a free bread basket as most Italian restaurants do. That was the only thing missing from a perfect meal.
This food is insane. It?s soooo good and you get it all for a decent price! The truffle pizza was to die for. I would go back just for that alone. The spicy rigatoni lives up to its name. It?s so so spicy, but we loved it. Our favorite had to be thepesto with pistachio sauce, we were all fighting for the left overs the next day. Absolutely Delicious! The pasta was perfectly made, drinks are perfectly crafted...and the vibe...well if you are looking for the most relaxing upbeat energy from the staff and highly satisfied guests than this is the place for you!. Worth thewait...they don't take reservations but who minds when service and quality is this great!
