Portsmouth Publick House

This was my second time at Portsmouth Publick House. My first experience was fantastic easily a 4.5 star experience. Food was better than expected and service was great. We got a beer, margarita sampler thing, pork nachos, and a BBQ pizza. The drinks were great, nachos were amazing (huge portion they dump everything onto a pizza try and bake it , the pizza is huge (16” and really good. This second time, however, was less than stellar probably 3.5 stars. My wife and I stopped by the car museum down the road for a fundraiser and thought we’d grab a quick bite since we enjoyed it so much the first time. Unfortunately, the nachos this second time around were burnt and the service was a bit slow....

Decided to do my usual stop in this past Friday night and got to hang out with the bartender Joe who is always great to talk to and is fast with service. Had the baked stuffed Haddock with rice and asparagus along with a 22 oz angry orchard followed by a spicy passion fruit margarita made from ghost pepper tequila and a tajin spice rim. Never had a drink like that before but it had the perfect kick and paired very well with my dinner. Decided to also try the tirimasu for dessert which for those that like coffee this is definitely the dessert for you. Highly recommend this place all the time and try different things each time I go. Portsmouth Publick House is a small local joint to eat for a quick bite. Joyce was very friendly and pleasant as our waiting staff, with a friendly smile and a pleasant word. The pasta with small cut of shells had a beautiful white wine sauce with garlic bread on the side and a lot of shells. The Margarita Pizza had a hearty amount of fresh mozzarella on top with fresh tomatoes and fresh basil, the dough was crispy and airy. Last but not least, the delicious red velvet cupcake, which was easily fed, was with a creamy cream cheese freezing top.

Decided to give them a try on the way through the area. My husband and I shared a cup of clam chowder, general tso pizza, and the pulled pork mac n cheese. The Mac and cheese was delicious! The pizza was pretty good too but would try a different flavor next time. The crust was baked just right.

Very impressed, had a Cuban sandwich w/ the best sweet potato fries I've ever tasted. Husband with very pleased with his buttered lobster roll. Fast super friendly service, will return.
