Disappointed and lacking excitement. My husband and I chose Prairie House for a date night, and while the interior was lovely, and the live musician had a wonderfully sultry voice that complemented the cozy atmosphere, the food fell short. The Burnt Ends appetizer was dry and lukewarm, accompanied by dry onions and peppers. The New York strip had a lot of tendons and gristle, with very faint char marks. The mushrooms had a nice texture but were quite bland. The vegetable kebab was a nice addition, but the plating was too small to accommodate it, causing it to cool down quickly. If you haven't visited Prairie House in old Town Lewisville you are missing out!! Ladies and gentlemen...The atmosphere here superb, the large impeccable bar was and townhouse features are absolutely stunning! My waitresses was named MIA, she was the best waitresses I've ever had, it was like telepathic almost how she knew exactly what type of drink I needed, the food was delicious, everything was visually yummy, and tasted just like this picture! I have no idea why this place doesn't have 5 stars. I'm going back...ASAP this dessert menu I need to sample, and please ? yall try the fried ribs!! I heard audibly clear,over, and over, how amazing they are!!!

I had a great experience at this restaurant for lunch. It wasn’t crowded on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the BBQ trio, and the sausage was fantastic. I also tried a couple of their signature cocktails, with the Bluebonnet being my favorite. I had a salad, which was pretty good, and we also ordered a chicken-fried steak sandwich. That was a solid choice too, though I wish it had a bit more gravy. We asked for extra gravy, but the server forgot, which is understandable—it happens. I had a great experience at this restaurant for lunch. It wasn't busy on a Saturday afternoon. I tried the BBQ Trio, and the sausage was outstanding. I also enjoyed some cocktails, with the Bluebonnet being my favorite. I ordered a salad that was decent, and we also got a chicken fried steak sandwich, which was tasty, though I wished it had a bit more substance. We requested some extra toppings, but the server forgot, which is fine. I'd definitely consider returning, perhaps for dinner, if I'm ever back in the North DFW area.
So this place is GORGEOUS! The whole decor theme is executed so very well! From outside to inside, just lovely! It scores extra points for us because one of the rusty old tractors outside is made by a brand called Oliver and that just happens to be the name of our son, so extra photo ops and photos were snagged with it. The food was great and portions were large for the prices! Our server was stretched thin but she did her best keeping up with refills and getting the food out to us. Can?t wait to go again!
After being seated, we waited 15 minutes before receiving any service. The appetizers were good, but our dinner salads arrived after the main courses. I ordered the brisket tips and chicken breast, but I couldn't finish either. My wife ordered an 8 oz sirloin and left half of it uneaten, including all of the okra. The hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed, but our waitress was friendly once she finally attended to us, despite the long wait.
