We went to Primal once before and liked it, but the experience was ok, so we wanted to give it another try. This time I liked the experience much better. My husband stayed up late to get a reservation for our recent trip and he mistakenly picked kitchen and asked for a roomy table as he did not know, kitchen was up front. In any case we got a giant table for a big party by the door. It was not optimal seating for two and the hostess read my face and moved us to a high table by the bar. A very unique restaurant right along the beach on the boardwalk side in Cape May. To think it took nearly a year to finally get our act together and dine here! We shared all 4 appetizers and a few items from the Second section. The Burrata was delicious and so unique! The figs and strawberry compote added sweetness to the dense, creamy cheese. The Crab was tender (no fillers! . During our trip to Cape May, NJ, we decided to try what everyone recommended as one of the best beachside restaurants. We were not disappointed! The service was exceptional, with a wonderful team of servers ensuring we had a great experience from the moment we arrived (even though we had a short wait, we had reservations). I can't say enough wonderful things about this incredible restaurant! The food is outstanding—we make it a point to dine here every year when we visit Cape May. During my latest trip, I had the lamb, and I’m still dreaming about it! The service is exceptional, and the side dishes are both unique and delicious. The bread, spreads, and desserts are all delightful! The ambiance, with its stunning water view, adds to the experience. I was told that this was the best steak in Cape May. So of course we had to try it! My friends swore by it and we got a reservation a long time in advance, because it looks like reservations are hard to come by., Especially this time of year. So plan ahead! What I love about a good steakhouse is that it is simple good dry aged ribeye cooked over high heat to the right temperature, that is it. Keep it simple, very good indeed. And the weight staff was great!
Delicious food, great service by Ana and the restaurant experience was very nice. First time at the restaurant and were looking forward to a table with a view but upon request were told that was not possible even though it was an early seating of 5:45pm which was a bit of a letdown but otherwise our booth was fine. Complimentary salad and dessert were pleasant surprises as well.
Food was phenomenal! Ten stars, hands down. Everything from the bread to the dessert was truly delicious and crafted beautifully. My only complaint that stops me from giving 5 stars is that the bathrooms were not the cleanest. Also, tons of crumbs and dirt by the windows. Wow! YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE! The food is incredible. The dry-aged ribeye was hands down the best steak that everyone at the table has ever tasted, and we had some serious steak enthusiasts among us. I could rave about how delicious everything was, but there's no need—just go and make that reservation!
