Prime at Saratoga National

Well, breakfast ordered was the Eggs Benedict and the Prime Breakfast with two eggs over easy along with bacon and sausage. Appetizers were Tuna Tartar and Tart flambé. Appetizers were great, can not really mess up raw fish.. The Eggs Benedict came and they didn’t put hollandaise on it, which is what makes the dish. The eggs that were ordered “Over easy” were fully cooked. They forgot the side of bacon and home fries were ice cold. Was our first time at Prime because we always heard great things so we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary there. What a disappointment. $128 for the worst breakfast. Not to mention the bus boy with in a foot of guest sitting down eating and yawning right...

Disappointing is the word I would use. Service was slow and surly. We were there for brunch and had toast in our orders. It arrived dry, we asked for butter and it took ages to arrive, we inquired about jam and were told there was none. This is breakfast after all. Dry toast is something you get at the poor house, not a “prime” restaurant. We also had to ask for salt, pepper, ketchup and to flag someone down for coffee. I had asked for a second drink but that never came. It’s not like the place was crowded so that is no excuse. We also looked at the dessert menu….please tell me how you can describe crème brûlée as a slice of pound cake?!? That is not baking, that is creative writing. Needles...

The steaks were cooked to exactly as we had asked, but didn’t have much flavor. Can’t remember the last time we paid for the restaurants steak sauce. Have been to many top steak restaurants. Peter Lugers, Frankie Johnnies Benjamin’s to name a few. They always put the bottle of sauce on the table at no charge tastes better. Service was terrific.

food was good...Very expensive. Surf and Turf $175..that is crazy. My dinner was good,My friends ordered the steaks at $90 each which I feel is a little pricey for just a steak and no sides. We will go back to try it again to sit outside Réservez une table maintenant

Service was not as good as it usually is. Service was slow with long wait times between courses. Noise level was extremely high. It was hard to carry on a conversation with others at my table. Food was excellent!

Very dim in the dining area, but food was delicious and service professional. Nice wine list. Pricey as you’d expect. But would definitely recommend for a splurge.
