Having lived here for years and tried all the cafes and casual restaurants in the Holme Valley this is honestly the best. Imaginative and varied food, friendly and attentive staff including some youngsters, who I am glad to see working, who were professional, careful, accurate and pleasant. My salad nicoise with generous seared tuna steaks was less than £9 and given the prices charged at other places in the area for pizza, pasta and sandwiches with cheap ingredients, this place is extremely good value. Our food took a long time to arrive and we were never asked if we wanted any sauces or condiments. No one checked on us during our meal. The food was average, nothing outstanding. Meanwhile, the staff were sitting and chatting about their Instagram and TikTok followers, teasing each other. While it's fine to socialize with colleagues, I personally wouldn't do it within earshot of customers. They even discussed whether they should check on other customers, but ultimately didn't follow through.

Sadly I have to give a poor review. Whilst the food was “adequate” the service was abysmal. The waiting staff knew nothing about the very basic menu, food presented with no cutlery, no effort made to clear dirty plates in what was one of the hottest days of the year. No effort to ask if order was ok or any wish to order additional food. Asked for the bill …. Was just told the amount no itemisation .. I never give bad reviews but I am incensed regarding the attitude of the staff. I have never had a bad experience before this visit please up your standards to what they were!!!
We popped in here for a quick drink and some fruit toast today. Service, toast and cider were good. I've dropped a star as the table was covered in fine grit and all the furniture looked like it needed a good clean. Also having an A4 menu in a smallish font (yes I'm over 50) stuck to the back wall made it awkward for us to read it. We took a photo in the end as it was easier. Apart from that it was all OK.

I went to the cafe with my daughter, granddaughter, and dog. The service was fantastic and we were warmly greeted. The staff regularly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The menu was great and the food was delicious. Everything was made to order, so there was a short wait, but it was worth it for the fresh, home-cooked food. We will definitely return.
Went for cider and a lunch, the food is really foos (pulled pork sandwich and ceasar salad and roasted new potatoes). Serice was really good, the staff chatty and friendly and attentive (asking if we wanted more drinks when ours were empty as we were sat outside). Also very good coffee. Very nice place to spend a few hours
The restaurant is overpriced and overhyped. The food is nothing special and the prices are extremely high. It's just typical modern nonsense of the Jamie Oliver era. Bread is bread, ham is ham - give us a break. Oh, to live in the Holme Valley. Bless us.
Though the cafe closes at 4.00 do not expect to get a coffee after 3.45. We ordered about 3.40 to be told 10minutes later the machine had been cleaned down so no hot drinks available. Sad as we were looking forward to coffee and cake.

A great mexican dish for lunch with excellent cider in the (small) main cafe. In the height of summer there's a conservatory area. Quirky and interesting, very friendly staff.
Only a small place with limited tables inside. Good selection of basic well- cooked foods and variety of drink. Loved the dhal and they obliged with bacon& halloumi sandwich.
