Fancied a quick bite to eat and a member of staff was incredibly rude. The man at the bar with glasses and dark hair said in a rude tone that the kitchen is closing soon and we need to hurry if we want to order food. It was clear he did not want us to, even though it had not closed yet. I confirmed with him, if it isn’t closed yet can we still order now? He said yes but only if we know what we want, and he made it very clear he did not want us to order. We arrived and left all within the space of 2 minutes as we will not spend money somewhere that does not want it. Shocking customer service.

The staff at this restaurant are welcoming and the food is delicious. I have enjoyed both breakfast and lunch here, and the tea is fantastic. The cakes are airy and tasty, I could have eaten a lot more! The restaurant is located by the river, so you can enjoy the lovely ambiance of being serenaded by ducks.

We really enjoyed this cafe. It was delightful sitting outside and enjoying our coffee and homemade cake. The store below had a wonderful selection of art by talented artists. The atmosphere both inside and outside was fantastic. This cafe is truly a hidden gem in Newport!

We had expensive sandwiches, £8:25 each, which were made with dull sliced white bread, and mine had very thinly sliced pressed ham. For that price we would expect good quality, crusty bread and baked ham. Need to raise your game, if you are going to charge premium prices.

Popular location sitting close by to the river. Great walks where you can sit out in the sun Lovely coffee There is a museum with art and a small threatre for events .
