The coffee is fresh, and the deli area is clean—I'm quite particular about food quality, and it meets my standards. My husband and daughter visited the Quickchek store at 881 Main Street in Sayreville, NJ. We often shop there since it's less than a mile from our home. I’m currently four months pregnant and asked my husband to pick up some chocolate for me. He happily went in with our 5-year-old daughter. However, when he reached the register, the cashier asked why he hadn’t chosen strawberries and caramel instead. He replied that it was none of her business what he was buying. I spent $15 at Quickchek and am asking for a refund! I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and bacon, adding extra mozzarella and American cheese, but the sandwich arrived soggy and messy. Worse, it was missing both the bacon and mozzarella. While waiting, I also noticed several sub rolls on the pickup counter covered in mold, which was very off-putting. I hope Quickchek’s management reviews these problems promptly and addresses them with the owner. This experience has certainly made me hesitant about trying anything else from their menu.
I paid $15 and I want a refund! I ordered a tomato and bacon grilled cheese and even paid extra for mozzarella and American cheese. The sandwich was soggy and looked unappetizing. It didn't have any bacon or mozzarella at all. While I was waiting for my food after paying, I noticed at least half a dozen sub rolls on the counter where you pick up your food, and they had mold on them. I was appalled. I've observed a decline in service quality recently. The breakfast sandwiches have been coming out cold, and the coffee isn’t warm either. When I addressed this with the staff, they appeared unsure of how to respond. It's disheartening, especially since I've been a loyal customer for over 30 years. It feels like I’m dining at a convenience store, which is really disappointing. Additionally, I don’t believe that inadequate staffing is the problem, as there are plenty of employees present in the establishment.
I'm really disappointed with Quickchek today. I usually stop by several times a week on my way to work to pick up a breakfast sandwich or something from their menu. However, I won’t be coming back after today because this is at least the fourth time in two months that they’ve messed up my order. I can’t enjoy my chicken BLT sandwich without the bacon, and my sausage and egg sandwich definitely isn’t the same without onion. Such a shame.
Things have taken a serious turn for the worse. I received cold breakfast sandwiches and cold coffee during my last visit. When I asked the staff about it, they didn’t have any answers. QuickChek is a convenient spot for cigarettes and soda, but if you're after a sandwich, it’s disappointing. The availability of bread is inconsistent, which is frustrating. This location could really benefit from being rebuilt into a larger, modern store with updated cooking facilities.
