Quills is within walking distance of our Son and Daughter in Law's home and has become their/our new local favourite. We recently went there for both lunch and dinner on the same day (with different guests) and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. The restaurant is so named (eg, as in the Quills of bird feathers) because there used to be chicken farms in the area. Hence the name "Scratchings" in lieu of Entree, or Starters. The pork knuckle is the best we've eaten, and cooked to perfection. The salad main meals are fresh, interesting, and delicious. A group of 70 Red Hat ladies enjoyed an amazing lunch at Quills. Since we had a large group the restaurant was closed to other patrons. The food was delicious and tasty, it couldn't be faulted which is saying a lot when you have such a large crowd. Everyone was wowed by the appetiser - Buttered Carrot Soup with Gnocchi- it was a big hit. This course was followed by entrees of either chicken or salmon - both wholesome, and full of flavour. The front of house staff at Quills are amazing, the wait staff were very efficient. It was a wonderful day with excellent food & service.
We have been coming here since it's opening and love the food!The food is well priced for the quality & freshness and they have prosecco on the menu which is always a bonus for me. Their corn fried chicken & duck parfait is amazing as was their chocolate mousse with caramel popcorn!!They change their menu regularly and have great specials. The staff are also great and look after their guests especially the locals. Only teeny weeny downside is I would love to see them opening up Friday lunch!
Quills isn't fine dining and doesn't pretend to be. Good food with warm and friendly service. Quills also has prompt meal service & our favourite is that they have got the noise dampening done superbly. Too many places now you can hear a table 30 metres away. We enjoyed our meal but it wasn’t anything exceptional, I ordered the Pork knuckle, which was a bit hard to eat but tasted good. Hubby had roast lamb rump which he enjoyed, the staff were friendly and efficient we had the wine that was on special but was average. We will go again as it is close to home not over priced and the food was nice.
Our third visit to Quills delivered the goods yet again. The friendly staff welcomed us back and remembered us. Our whole family enjoyed our meals and let me tell you, they are consistently tasty and generous portions. The staff were attentive and we had a wonderful experience. Looking forward to their next seasonal menu.
This is the first and proper restaurant at this local area! We are so surprised that the cost is not so expensive and acceptable! The food is above standard! One more good news- it open on Sunday early morning at 07:00 to provide brekkki as there is a newly Sunday Market! Come to support all!
Our group of six diners had dinner last Saturday night at Quills in Wattle Grove, great service and great food, we had the grilled fish, the Pork belly and the Blacken chicken which was very nice, presentation was excellent.Service is attentive and efficient. we would certainly go again.
