We chose seniors menu, fish and chips so reasonable price. Service was quick and pleasant waitress. However, senior's meal might be a smaller amount but should still be of quality, this meal was not. Meal consisted of one piece of fish, chips and small...bowl of salad. The salad was fresh and would have been fine except the dressing was chilli and soy there was no mention on menu that salad would be dressed in this, I am allergic to soy and hate chilli, I had small amount of lettuce and noticed the soy then saw all the heavy sauce at the bottom of the dish lucky it was so heavy as not much was on lettuce, so the salad went to my husband. Were to start, very loud u have to fight your way though the dinners ordering to get to bar, bar service average Meal wife order Caesar salad took to come after all the hot was delivered, Worse Caesar I have ever seen uneatable no...cos lettuce just rocket lettuce with almost every leaf had a anchovy attached, the fellow next to her order seafood platter, told wife it was **** terrible, I had steak very tough, but the hot chip were very awesome, the people opposite enjoy their meals Thai salad so I guess it’s what you order, I also had cob loaf it was so soggy I could pickup a slice it would fall apart i won’t be back
The only small issue we encountered at the restaurant was that my sister, who is disabled, had difficulty getting through the main doors. We had to wait by the back glass doors to be let in, but once inside, everything was wonderful as usual. The food was perfect, with perfectly cooked portions, and I can't even describe how delicious the redskin or golden gaytime cheesecake was. The prices were fair and the staff was very friendly. Our waiter, who I believe was the owner himself, was fantastic and truly deserves recognition.
I have been to this restaurant twice in the past week since moving to Bannockburn. I highly recommend this place. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. A big thumbs up to the chefs. They also offer takeout, which makes things even easier (especially since I am not a cook). One visit and you will be hooked on eating here, you won't be disappointed. The large restaurant was full for most of our stay. I had fisherman's baset. In a group of I was able to observe that the meals were huge. To me , as an elderly person, this off-putting. The banana split was huge too, but...excellent. I ate it all. The wine list included local wines. With a hearing problem, I found the noise levels high
I didn't have a reservation, but managed to get a table in the bistro. The beer and lemon lime bitters were reasonably priced. I ordered the Thai beef salad, salt and pepper squid, and fish crepe. The portions were large, but delicious. The service from the young staff running the show and bar was excellent. I will definitely return.
One of the most iconic pubs in Melbourne! This is one of my favourite local pubs. The owner has kept the pokie machines away and the restaurants delivers delicious food. (No Parmas here though). Sangria on summerSundaysis fun. Justdon'tsteel the corner booth in the beer garden as that is mine.
