It was a difficult decision to make about what was worse at this restaurant: the service or the food. Our server, a young woman, had an attitude and lacked finesse when placing or arranging our dishes on the table. Attitude, really?? This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. The lobster signature maki roll we started with was overloaded with ingredients, making it difficult to eat. The classic maki we ordered was tasteless and the smoked salmon pieces were mediocre. We also tried a tempura combination that was tasteless, over battered, and the asparagus was impossible to bite into. Great place to come for nigiris and sashimis, not makis. We came early for dinner so the service was fast. I was very disappointed with sushi rice being not seasoned and underdone. They weren’t fully cooked through so we ate our sushi and makis a bit raw, literally everything raw. For me, rice is incredibly important for sushi and when you can’t get your rice close to perfect, no quality of ‘melt in your mouth fish’ can makeup for it. Everything else was very good! Must try their Hotate, Uni and spicy tuna roll (one of the few places that uses chili oil instead of spicy mayo).
We dined at this restaurant for our anniversary and opted for the 15-course menu, which was definitely worth it! Each course had a distinct flavor and our server made sure to explain all the details of each dish, which were all delicious. We will definitely be returning in the future!
Service was not very good at all. Everyone’s food was brought out at random times and I didn’t get my Miso soup with everyone, they brought it out after the entree but the food was AMAZING.
