The online listing shows that the restaurant closes at 12 AM on Saturdays, but when I arrived at 11:25 PM, the young man was already closing up. He made eye contact with me several times but didn’t say anything until a large group of his classmates showed up. Only then did he open the window and inform me that they had actually closed at 11:15 PM. Their operating hours need to be updated. I was really looking forward to the ice, especially since I've had great customer service experiences at other locations. Unfortunately, this one left a very sour impression on me.
If you don't appreciate Ralph's, then we probably don't see eye to eye, and you might as well not be part of the family! I often reminisce about life before Ralph's opened in Merrick more than ten years ago. It's a place I look forward to every spring, and I always feel a bit down when they close for the winter. With so many flavors and options, I know I'll never be able to try them all in just one summer!
I went to Ralph's Famous Italian Ices yesterday (January 18, 2023) at 9 PM, and their website states that they close at 10:15 PM. Unfortunately, they were already closed when we got there.
The service was a bit slow, but it's Italian ice! If you're a fan, they offer an extensive selection of flavors. There are also options for those who prefer something different.

The best icy treats in the world! The young staff do an excellent job of maintaining the quality and ensuring everything is stocked, and their hard work really shines through.
The mango ices here are exceptional. You can really taste the abundance of real fruit in them, and the prices are very reasonable.
A beloved seasonal spot, offering a wide variety of options with new flavors to explore frequently.
Always delicious! The only downside is that they frequently run out of chocolate.

Best Ralph's on long Island. Way better then the one on the nautical mile.
