You do not often get a lot of dining options on base, and those that are there are usually franchises/chains where you can get the same thing anywhere else. It's nice to have something a little different than burgers and pizza, and baja cali food is perfect for the beach. They offer the typical baja cali/SoCal mexican food. Fish tacos, cali burritos, and carne asada (cali) fries. They were all pretty good and fair for the price. It's also nice to be able to enjoy a margarita right on the beach, the benefits of being on federal property. Overall it's a pretty solid place. The service was pretty fast. Can't be the ambiance since you're right on the beach.

Meh.... It's not terrible food. I'm not sure what they are going for here. It tasted like Mexican food I would have made at home. Actually, I think I could have made it a little better. I ordered the naked burrito with Carne asada and chicken and lettuce and Chipotle sauce. I swear there was ground beef mixed in there. Not a lot of meat. More lettuce and tortilla. $11, and I was full for a bit, so it wasn't terrible. Unfortunately, this place got a spot on the Dal Mar Beach on base. I wish they would have vetted a nicer cantina for this location.

The California burrito fell short of expectations and was of poor quality. It was served cold, with unheated tortillas, and lacked flavor. Despite the high price of $13.00, only a quarter of it was consumed before being discarded. The Carne asada bowl was also disappointing, as it was served with white rice and teriyaki sauce, which is not traditional for Southern California Mexican cuisine. Overall, the Mexican food at this establishment was subpar and did not meet the standards expected in this region.

I've been twice in a year and both times they were out of numerous alcoholic drinks that are advertised; that is disappointing. Thereafter, the food is adequate. Meh. I'd eat elsewhere. Had the Arizona burrito and it was small. Also, they removed the umbrellas which makes it unpleasant to eat at their outdoor tables.

This place sucks....... The cashier was a brat. I paid 17 dollars for a Cali burrito and drink and I got my food before I can even get my sauces because they gave me old meat that was just sitting there. My burrito was so cold the cheese wasn't even melted .

Reliabley high quality burritos. The only halfway decent food between San onfre and Pulgas. Tax free, and cheap as hell. You get more bang for your buck here than you do at the px, you can get the burrito and drink for less than ten dollars.

We used to love your Carnitas burrito and the last few times we've had it, it has been horrible! Burnt and so dry!!! You need to make the Carnitas juicy!!!!
