This restaurant is a hidden gem. Set behind high hedges you could easily miss it. The roof top signage letting people know of its existence. Staying at the hotel opposite we were on lookout for somewhere to eat out away from the canteen set up that all hotels seem to have nowadays. Rancho Chico opens only in the evening but after scanning the menu board set into the hedge by the opening we decided to visit. We weren’t to be disappointed. We waited at the entrance to be seated and the setting of tables around an open courtyard provided a comfortable ambiance. We were a little disappointed coming away from this restaurant although I couldn’t fault the staff at all and the food was good, for me it just didn’t live up to all the other reviews we read on Tripadvisor. My wife and I both had fillet steak, both were ordered cooked medium. My steak was well done but still good, and my wife’s was fine. Kids had ham burgers and have had much nicer burger’s elsewhere. Despite all of above the staff were great and so helpful. I didn’t complain about my steak as genuinely I don’t mind it well done either. However, I probably wouldn’t go back again
We ate here with my young family 10 years ago. The quality and the ambience of the restaurant is still excellent if not better. The 2 young brothers who have carried on the family business have done the family proud. Be sure to book as they don't book to capacity to ensure a personal and enjoyable service. I can recommend any steak from the grill, perfect. I found the cost very reasonable considering the setting and quality of ingredients.
Pros: Steaks were lovely, no issues at all. Decorations were tasteful. Cons: Service was slow due to limited waiter staff. Spaghetti Carbonara was utterly awful. No taste, had to return to kitchen. Starter plate, Grilled Camembert cheese was lukewarm. I don 't know if this was a 'off ' day for them but overall we were left with average feelings about the establishment. Lovely grilled meats, locally sourced (hence prices) and friendly, relaxed approach. Proper time and attention has gone into feeding patrons and it shows. Simple, beautiful Spanish food, with distinct Mallorcan influences. We ate here twice and both meals were very good. Seems to be run by the next generation, and they very much take time for each table, polite and at their pace, with never being too busy.
Stunning restaurant with delicious steaks. I booked via Facebook that afternoon and was so glad I did so many people were turned away because it’s very popular and you can see why. The steak I had was perfect followed by a gorgeous tiramisu and was made to feel very welcomed dining alone.
