My husband was hesitant about staying here this weekend, recalling that the last time he visited, the air conditioning wasn't functioning well and the room was uncomfortably warm. Given our special memories with this resort, especially since we had our wedding here, I thought it was just a one-time issue. However, we booked our stay, and despite the thermostat reading 61 degrees, the room is at least 80 degrees. It's disappointing because I would love to continue supporting this place, but if the rooms aren't comfortable—especially with the recent price hike from $99 to $130 a night—it's hard to justify coming back. My review is to inform others of wanting to stay here at the lodge.The lodge was pretty, the ladies at the front counter did a wonderful job making the special request sent via my fiance was fulfilled.Unfortunately, we ended up not staying here because of misleading information on the website that we verified many times were correct before booking. We were met with understaning at the front desk when we asked to cancel/refund our reservation and were charged only a night.I urge whoever is over the website to update and include that amenities listed (kayak, canoe, horseback riding) that are offered here are not yet available.The only things that are all-inclusive about the resort are the pool...
A few days later, my father-in-law decided to extend his stay and called my wife, demanding that she put down a credit card for his reservation at 11:00 AM, even before he checked in. When my wife suggested that the resort could take his card upon his arrival, the staff said that was against their policy and hung up on her.
I would recommend looking for a different place.
I always look forward to visiting Rayburn Country Resort! They continually make improvements, and it's such a stunning location! The outdoor bar and restaurant next to the resort, Sammy Rays, offers a fantastic and enjoyable atmosphere as well!
