YIKES... Not from the area and stopped in for breakfast with friends. Got sat quickly which was really nice...and then it went downhill from there. They shoved us at a small table and proceeded to put everything under the sun on the table, leaving us little space (group of 5). Large portions but the food was TERRIBLE. Hashbrowns were white and uncooked for our entire group. We got the butcher block omelet for two of us and it was overcooked; additionally the ham and three cheese omelet was overcooked. Pancakes taste like cardboard. The other meals for our group were sub par at best. I am truly amazed this place has 4.5 stars... really really bad food honestly.
I was meeting a friend from Windsor Park, who has been here a few times and I have to say the breakfast skillet was delicious! The vegetables were snappy fresh, potatoes, flavorful and crispy and eggs cooked just right (over medium). Expect either a big breakfast or some leftovers! I got a side of pancakes, which I don’t normally get. They were good. One area they could improve—and I’m sorry to be so picky—the water didn’t taste great. Okay, that’s not a huge problem, but it’s the same water they make their coffee from! So that also had a weird taste about it. Oh for sure eat there again and I recommend you do too. Maybe I’ll get soda?
Have been regular customers there for several years. The last experience was likely our last. Very slow service (waited nearly 30 minutes from the time our order was placed). When the food arrived it was luke warm, the eggs were severely undercooked. At that point we did not have the time to send it back and start over . When paying, the checkout man (I believe the owner) asked how everything was, and I told him unsatisfactory and even showed him a picture of the undercooked eggs. He did not make any comment, compensation or apology. Not sure why he even asked.
Love the apple tree, so beautiful. The food is good, and I love getting actual hot coffee. My friends rave over the waffles in this restaurant, and now I can see why. It was crispy and soft in the middle. The blue berries on it were not overly sweet. The bacon was crispy!

My only issue is they have shellfish. This is one of the few restaurants that I do feel safe going to though although I wish they wouldn't have it and I didn't have to take the risk.
What can I say. Everytime I come here the food is great. The cheese blitz are tasty. Try them out. Oh gotta grab some sausage links n besure to have 1 2,3 cups of coffee.
Delicious food, best breakfast in Illinois. Been going since I was a little kid.
Service was excellent and the food was delicious! A ton of food for the price!
