We were recommended this place by our guest house owner. Having read the reviews on this restaurant we were a little apprehensive to say the least. But we needn’t have worried, absolutely faultless, in fact probably one of the best Indian restaurant we have visited lately. On arrival the restaurant was very busy and vibrant which is always a good sign , we were properly shown to our table and made to feel welcome. We had pomperdoms, onion barges, butter chicken, Tandoori mix grill with curry sauce, all with rice and Nan bread. A bottle of French red and two Irish coffee. Total cost £71 We couldn’t eat all the food, which was a shame as it was delicious !!! We learned that some couples had a...

It was disappointing to have friends visiting from America who were excited for an Indian meal, only to find the restaurant extremely busy with long wait times for both seating and takeaways. Despite being told our takeaway would take an hour, when we finally got our food home (10 miles away), we were disappointed to find the korma had a strange texture, the Jalfrezi tasted more like a chicken stew with some chillies, and the King prawn tandoori was almost burnt. The lamb dish was the only decent one. While we have visited this restaurant before and had an okay experience, this recent visit has left us unsure if we will be returning anytime soon.

We stayed near Hay for a week and often like to get an Indian takeaway while on holiday. We were a bit uncertain whether or not to go ahead, based on the very mixed reviews that Red Indigo receives, but gave it a try in the end. The food quality was ok, in terms of containing plenty of large chunks of meat, onions, peppers etc, but we would definitely agree with other reviewers that the sauces were a bit thin, bland and lacking in any real Indian flavour or spice. Normally I would keep the leftovers and eat it up the next day, but didn’t bother this time. Not awful, but not the best either.

The food was bland as others have commented. It’s quite difficult to cook bland Indian food so we were quite mystified. My chicken dopiaza was sickly sweet. The meat was dry, like it had been pre-cooked and then heated up. Me wife’s veg jalfrezi was like stewed vegetables with no spiciness. The poppadoms, peshwari naan and pilau rice were nice. The staff were excellent. But the food was unforgivable. Réservez une table maintenant

I've had 3 meals here over the past couple of years. The first was delicious and the 2nd and third awful. The first 2 meals were the same choice. Tried a third time last night. It was a Saturday so I hoped they had the best chef on. Had to send prawn masala back. No creamy spicy sauce, just a sugary tomato sauce with prawns dumped in. I'm afraid it's my last visit

The service at this restaurant was awful. We had to wait standing for 30 minutes for our reserved table and it took 1.5 hours before we were served food after ordering poppadums. My curry had no spice at all, although they did not charge me for it, I was extremely disappointed and the experience was quite stressful. It also took over an hour to get a drink.

The staff was attentive and the food was decent, but customers should be cautious of the 350% markup on bottles of wine. When I visited on a Thursday, there were only four other people in the restaurant.

Ridiculous situation- please don’t accept bookings if you have no staff! We waited 2.hours for our meal, drinks were impossible to get and yet walk ins were still arriving. Réservez une table maintenant

This place saved my life. We came to this town sunday evening and everything was closed. But we found this one and the food was amazing. So was the service.
