Although I live locally I have never taken a meal at the Red Lion under the present owners until last Sunday.What a treat I've been missing. Myself and my extended family visited for Sunday lunch. What can I say Simply superb Lashings of lovely food,...beautifully cooked and served by two happy, smiling people Deb and Fran. I shall have to make my Sunday visits more frequent. Sorry to say that food is only served on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes. I cannot recommend the Red Lion more highly. If one wants a good well cooked meal in pleasant surroundings give this place a try!!
The Red Lion is a rarity in today's world, a traditional pub where even as a stranger you are welcomed with open arms by the staff and the regulars. There is plenty on offer, from quiz nights, sport, dartboard and pool table. if you just...want to enjoy a quiet drink then there's nothing nicer than relaxing in front of a roaring fire and the best thing of all is that it is dog friendly. Highly recommend this to all. I enjoyed my visit so much I now work there. I took my husband there last Sunday for lunch, the roast dinner is exceptional.
a pub of people! a friendly pub with a wonderful atmosphere, beautiful local and tasty drinks! every sporting event under the sun shown on large screens, a stunning outdoor terrace area to crash the tan and cool refreshments really sky on the earth! if they don't have something when they visit, then they plan the next exciting evening meat-refining, karaoke and quizzes they call it they have. the wonderful workers know exactly what they do! would recommend again, again and again!
We enjoyed a really nice Sumday lunch here today which was very good value. The beef was excellent and very tender. Six vegetables were served along with boiled and roast potatoes and parsnips. The portions are huge and we couldn't finish all the vegetables. Staff...are very friendly and helpful. Would return

I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The website claimed that food was served, but that was not the case. The service for drinks was also slow and the staff did not seem interested in welcoming new customers. Overall, I would not recommend this place for a casual drink or meal.
I took my son to see what the local scene was like during the week. The owners gave us a great reception at this big pub. It was actually quite nice to have a pub that actually sells drinks for a change! Everyone there was in good spirits, so I hope it becomes my new local spot. Fingers crossed!
We had a great time at the large, trendy, and welcoming new pub. The drinks were fantastic, but what stood out the most was the excellent service we received. Thank you for taking such good care of us (although it was a bit busy towards the end of the night).
Needed to kill time till our B B was open this was a great choice, very friendly pub just a shame they didn't do food on a Friday. We have eaten Sunday dinner before here and the food was excellent so a packet of...Pork crunch had to make do.

Second visit for a Sunday Lunch, first time was unexpected and very good, second time was also truly excellent. Alan knows how to cook a cracking roast. Totally recommend a visit, but best to book on a Sunday.
Have visited The Red Lion a couple of times now. Great staff and fantastic food every time. Highly recommended
