Red Lion Whitworth

Called here this afternoon. Rang ahead asked for a table for 3 . Owner said he could fit us in. On arrival our table was ready . Window seat in a room to the left . There was another room on the right plus more infront of the bar. Service was prompt . Had a pint of ale Kahuna the ladys had WKD and Coke. We ordered Hallumi Fries and Cajun Mushrooms to come with our mains of ,Home Made Cheese and Onion pie, Chicken Burger and a Rump Steak Burger. All with beer chips. We stopped by at the end of a walk and arrived at 10am just as the restaurant opened for breakfast. We were greeted warmly and found a table by a cozy open fire. The breakfast menu was impressive, and I decided on the full English breakfast with a cup of coffee. I was very satisfied with the quality of the food, which was cooked with high-quality ingredients. Even the toast, made with ciabatta, was a nice touch. The coffee was also good. My two companions and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and plan to return soon. Lovely pub and atmosphere. Beer first class.Staff very good and helpful. We both had the urge for a stodgy lunch ie lion burger my wife had the small I had the large . Very tasty with the flavours chips, however the price difference of £6 between large and small for an additional beef patty on the burger was ridiculous and tainted what was a nice experience. My advice if you want large order 2 small burgers.

Visited with friends for help out eat out scheme Food was amazingly delicious. Menu is not extensive but it caters for all with a high quality great tasting range. I wish the new management all the best for the future I can already see the fabulous change in the atmosphere of this Whitworth relic. Réservez une table maintenant

Arrived here for the first time tonight after intending to come for some years. As it’s off the beaten track people won’t actually know it’s here. That’s a part of it’s charm. Good service Good menu Lovely standard of food What’s not to like

The friendly staff provided great service at this restaurant. The food was excellent and portion sizes were generous. The real ale was well maintained. Considering the current economic situation, I found the prices to be very reasonable.

Located at the end of a peaceful street in downtown Whitworth, this charming rural pub offers outdoor seating. The menu is good and reasonably priced, with friendly staff. The only downside was that the food was not served very hot.

Great food and service. Very friendly and welcoming service and good was excellent. Had t-bone steak special and it was best I've had, cooked to perfection. Really impressed will definitely visit again. Top notch. Réservez une table maintenant

It is a quaint pub with a village atmosphere the staff behind the bar are very friendly, the beers and drinks are good.
