This place used to have a line out the door and at least a min wait for a table; it was great tasting sushi for a great price. A few years later they closed down for renovations and I think, during this time, new management took over. Since this renovation, the sushi has become horrible. This fish is old and colored different, they're stingy on the amount of goodies they put in each roll (mostly rice and sauce). Old tasting fish is a scary though because you have no idea where that fish has been, and how old it really is. It's not exactly what it used to be, but it's still delicious, fresh sushi for an absolutely awesome price If you want only the freshest of fish (like a out of then this isn't your place. But if you're okay with a on the freshness scale, paying about what you'd pay at one of the more expensive sushi joints, then this is your jam I can drop bucks and have a massive sushi meal for my wife and I. in total a great value. everything was pretty good, except the tempura fried rolls. they were heavy and doughy. that brings me to my greatest grip. the menu is very not describing. we had no idea that the two Tempura reels we ordered were actually tempoura. the image does not help because it is very low res and the lists of ingredients that are not mentioned by tempoura or the rolls are fried. the waiter was very friendly and helpful and the sushi was very fast prepared (as sushi should be). sushi should be a short bit and not make an hour affair as at some. I was here twice, but not really in this place. the rolls ordered and surprised it doesn't look like the menu in relation to the content. it is surprising to see in it also lemon peels, what. why? also ordered poke salad, which is a no no no no no. it contains obviously frozen-baked chop tuna/salmon, watery salat, pieces tomato, pieces of unfresh yellow sprouts and the sose hot sose with sesame seeds...for real hot sose is the sose for the salat? where is the avocado and other vegetables in the menu? not even worth the cheap price. I'm sorry.
STAY AWAY from this place!!! Trust me this USED to be my favorite place to go for sushi, and I've been going for years. We ate there a few months ago and noticed the sushi just didn't taste good. In fact, I would have rather eaten to grocery store sushi. My husband and I went last night and give it another chance, and again, I was super disappointed. We actually said at the restaurant that the fish did not look fresh, and we wouldn't be back. Now we both have FOOD POISONING and are super today.
I've been going to this restaurant for about years. They have awesome sushi for the price and even better than many expensive sushi places in the area. Now couple things this is a hole in the wall type restaurant. You go for the food not the service and atmosphere. Not that there service is bad, they just work as a group and don't speak the best english. Decor is cluttery and tables are super close together, but for the price and food you won't care.
if you're looking for lust, keep looking. if they are looking for a cheap place to get so good sushi and Chinese food, this is their place! roll are cheap, there is a great variety, and the taste is great and quality is good. I would avoid the jalapeño yellowfin unless they like thick cut yellowfin it was a little fishy and too thick to take the big sauce in which it is served. try many different rolls that they can afford to go to these! Love the price at off everything all the time and it was decent quality sushi but not a fan of the service. I had a waiter run after me because she supposedly didn't charge me for a soda I was already in my car and she stood their till I handed her I love the price so I just get all my orders to go.
