Red Panda Chinese Restaurant

There is a new chef in town......This is not your usual chinese corner restuarant take away joint if that's what you're after it's not the place. We have followed this chef for years and he's the real deal authentic, fresh, real chinese cuisine. he has no seafood tanks to keep the costs down so if you want specials like lobsters, oysters, crabs pre order he will go and get them and charge you the price of the day. The food is wonderful. Consistency if the key to any good restuarant and he has never let us down. There is a male wait member who is wonderful and attentive, it's only a part time gig to help out his uncle the chef...he is a gem! Red Panda has really lifted the local chinese eatin...

This is our local Chinese restaurant so we have eaten here both in the restaurant and takeaway many times over the years. It was always inconsistent sometimes good to average other times the food was awful. Then it supposedly went under new management but same staff the first few visits the food was awesome and we had high hopes only to be devestated to find they are back to poor to average and inconsistent again. One favourite was duck meat rolls which are now more often than not dry chewy with little meat. We now travel a little further for our Chinese.

This restaurant has a great menu chilli prawns are to die for. We have always gone there as a family for a birthday celebration, so we have pretty much always picked one of the banquet menus. Food has always been relaly good. Location wise it's a bit away from where you would expect retaurants to be but don't let that put you off (and it makes for easy parking). The decor isn't great, but the food really is.

Rang and ordered dinner boxes and one serving of fried rice and dim sims. Get there to pick up and the price has gone up from $10 to $13 for a dinner box what a ripoff. Then get the food home and we have 2 meals wrong and the serve of fried rice is plain rice. So far they are not doing much for us. Then we eat and we won't be bothering to go back any time soon, it was very ordinary.

This restaurant had really declined, but it has new owners and it has really improved. I have been there twice since the new owners took over and the food is really good with very generous servings. The prices are a little high, but worth it.
